Kamui tip, I just tried one.can't believe it !

im glad you shot great but a tip isnt going to make me a champ. glad you like the kamui but im shootin great anytime my confidence is high. its all about fundamentals and playing precision shape. If your going to base your game on a tip im not satisfied. i play with mooris, le pro, triangle and many other tips on all my cues and i always win the money when im gambling. Its my experience with a rounded solid tip. I believe they all shoot great depending on the player and the way he excecutes his position and shotmaking. later

The kamui is sure a good fit for me. I've struggled trying to find a good, consistent tip and this is by far the best I've seen since I started playing again.

I've played with triangles.La pros,Elk masters,Champions,Moris,Wizard and a few more that I don't even know the name.

I didn't really try these tips but I lived and died with them. Not just a spin around the block. It sounds like you have too.

I played very well with all of them but I would learn the limitations that I had with each one.

I liked the La pros and the triangle the best over the years but they had their limitations.

The thing I like about the kamui is the soft, solid feel and the confidence that it will do what I need to do. When the cue ball consistently goes where I want it and the ball consistently goes in the hole.

Granted this tip isn't going to make someone a champion and it has alot to do with the driver and his capabilities but for someone that already has most of the moves it will alow you to get the job done.

I wonder if a major league player could hit home runs consistently with a little league bat?

I doubt it.

I agree.........

This is another preference issue. You like one thing and think its the best and the next guy likes another and thinks it is the best. I have had too many issues with Kamui's to buy another I have had every (5 or 6) tip glaze over and the blacks have an issue where they wont hold chalk on the glue lines after a while. I personally like a pressed triangle tip but its my preference.

I had this trouble with a mori. i miscued alot after I had it on for awhile. I didn't know why.

If this happens with this kamui and i won't know for awhile, I'm going to seek advice on how to stop it. This just plays too good right now to even think about peeling it off because something might happen.

I'll cross that bridge in a few weeks I'm sure.

thanks geno...........

Hi Geno,

Have you tried a Molavia or the new Hirano? Molavia is by far the best for me and I've tried and tested every tips on the market.

Duc.

Reminds me of a girlfriend I once had...........

I know exactly what you mean. I tried the regular kamui (brown) and enjoyed it but wasn't sure. I tried a kamui black and was sold. It played perfect for what I wanted. There are many people who say it is hype but it is the best playing tip I have used and I won't go back to another one. I have a bag of extras in my bag just in case I need one, lol.

Just think of the best girlfriend you ever had in your life.

Now you split up and for 5 years you look around just to try and find one as close to the one you had. She was just the best.

Once you find this kamui and it gets a little worn you can just buy another one. How sweet:wink:

Advantage,,,,,,,,, Kamui............

Yeah and Jack Nicholson snapped off tons of majors with wooden drivers and blade irons you prob wouldn't pay $10 for at a yard sale today.[...]

Really? Jack the actor snapped off tons of majors? I didn't know he played that well...

You might like it.....

Well Gene, i don't value many peoples opinions but yours I do. I'll put one on this week and give it a shot.

Hi there,

just a little word of advice and things to look out for or maybe do.

I turned my 12.75 predator shaft down a little. I think its 12.50 now.

When they put on the kamui don't let them burnish the sides on the lathe. Do it by hand. When they burnish it on that lathe they can actually burn the leather and make it too hard on the sides. This can make a nice soft hit kind of brittle and hard in some spots.

Mine did spread out just a little. I cut it down about half. They start out pretty high. I also had to round it a little a couple of times. Now it seems to stay the same.

If this tip stays the same for the next month I'm sold forever.

Even if I had to change it once a month it would be well worth it but it sounds like I won't have to.

I can't wait to plaY IN MY NEXT BIG TOURNAMENT.

Now with the laminated shaft, kamui and just the ability that these weapons will allow me to enhance I'm going to be more dangerous for sure. I know the equipment will not let me down.

I don't feel like I'm doing to a gun fight with a knife now.

The playing field just got a little more level.

Good thing I got my head out of my but. It only took me 2 years to figure this out with so many players trying to say how great they were.

But like i said before, it was the nay sayers that swayed me from both for awhile.

I won't ever make that mistake again.

Good luck my friend. I wish you Perfect shooting.

Oh Oh. I'm going to get in trouble again. I said Perfect.:wink:

I have been playing with a Kamui tip for about 2ys now and I have only one bad thing to say about the tip. Bad thing is:: I have to replace the tip because it's wore down to hardly nothing. IMO, spending 30-45$ on a tip thats plays great in 2yrs time is a no brainer.

Amen.......

That's what I want to here. Experience over nay sayer.

If i get 2 months out of it it's a no brainer but I can see already in a week that it's hardly changing now.

Your post is valuable in the fact that you have had one for so long versus the player that tried it for a week and didn't like it.

Maybe his cue sucked or the tip wasn't rounded right or maybe it got wet from getting cold and hot. Hard to say.

A guy like yourself speaks volumes.

Smart players listen. Smart players change.

Old school players like myself just keep on getting the same not as good results and keep getting beat by this new high tech improvements.

Level the playing field Old School. There really is something too it.

Sure ther're charging more for the tip but why shouldn't they. they know they have the best product.

No Brainer. All the way...........Invaluable...........

IMHO if Willie Mosconi was still with us in his prime he would run over genomachino like a Train verses a Compact Car.

.

I'm not a nay sayer... I'm a truth teller...

I have asked every great player I have ever met why they shoot so good.. and to a man they all gave the same answer... (hint... it wasn't equipment and doesn't require a credit card)

plywood shafts.. the tip of the month and perfect aim all do have something in common...

HYPE!!!

nothing more..

imho if willie mosconi was still with us in his prime he would run over genomachino like a train verses a compact car.

Kind of like Gene would run over you. You remind me of a guy I use to know that would go around starting fights get his a$$ kicked. Then go running to his big brother to fight his fight. Coco where does all this hate for Gene come from ? Every since Gene started his perfect aim you have dogged him. I would really like to know what it is about him that bothers you so much that you can't wait to jump on him.

This statement doesn't really make sense. If Mosconi was in his prime, he would run over EVERYONE like this....

AMEN that is my point you got it. Mosconi would play great be it with a House Cue, or a Black Boar.

I can take my neighbor Wood Carving Tools, and a Block of Bass Wood, and make nothing but something to burn in the fire place.

My Neighbor can create a Bird with the Tools, and Bass Wood that looks life like, and is art selling for big bucks.

It is not the Stick, Tip, Joint that make you shoot Pool, like a Great Player, it is your skill, and ability.

I would bet on Tiger Wood with a Set of Wal-Mart Clubs, or Willie Mosconi playing with a Wal-Mart $15.00 Cue, over most people as both Tiger & Willie have something special. Skill, Focus, and the Inner Will To Never Loose.

Think we need to learn to work with what we have and quit seeking some magic gizmo, or tool, as it is the person that plays well, or wins not the Gizmo.

BTW I read Mosconi book Willie's Game, IMHO it is a lesson in learn why Mosconi was so great.

I think this all started back when Geno made the statement... "There are two types of people in this world: Those who like Neil Diamond, and those who don't".

I don't think I need to tell you what monkeys that wear cowboy hats think of Neil Diamond! ;)

I'm just waiting for "Bad Blood: Geno vs Coco" as TAR 21 :)

Who will be betting on Team Monkey?
Who will be betting on Team Aiming Systems?

I might actually show up to watch that one live! :)
