last night I played with a shaft with Kamui black M tip installed last year. I haven't played with it in 7-8 months. It played like a monster last year when I just installed the tip, but not last night.
before play I scuffed the tip using the Kamui gator grip, it looked nice and ready to rock. but I was surprised how it performed. I use Cosmo chalk and the tip did not hold chalk well. I miscued often and to me honest the tip felt horrible to me. I felt it did not "hold" the cue ball long enough at the contact moment, it felt dead. I miscued even after chalking, after just 1 hour of play I looked at it and saw that it needed scuffing again.
I admit that I played awful last night and everything was off, stroke, feel, bridge hand. I played whole 2weeks of football prior to last night (2 games every 3 days) without any pool session, and my physical is not as normal. but the tip was there to show for, it was not the same it had been right after installation.
I have another shaft with same kamui black m, and it showed the same, holds chalked poorer over time, more miscue, and the top layer nearly popped out.
so is it time for a new tip? I must say my tip looks like newly installed bcoz I haven't played with it for long.
do you guys have the same prob with Kamui tips? and what tip would you recommend instead of Kamui?
thanks,
Cuong.
