Keep Watching "The Color of Money"

Keith McCready

Thanks, Houmatroy. I did start the thread out of joy, but I'm beginning to see that it may have an unpleasant effect on a pool forum. This is supposed to be a celebratory thread, not a demeaning thread about Keith.

I should have known better. LOL :grin-square:

Oh, well, in the words of Minnesota Fats, slightly altered for Keith's sake, "Boys, the only difference between me and everybody else is everybody else talks about The Color of Money, and Keith McCready was in the The Color of Money."

And nobody will ever be able to take that away from him.

JAM:

In reference to what one recently banned member said regarding Keith's roll in the movie, his was the main character I remember just because of the things he said and the way he said it...a classic roll, he deserves everything he receives from it and I hope it's a lot.

"It's like a nightmare and it keeps getting worse"

Peace

its keith

We're still on Cloud Nine, but now it's a waiting game for the SAG board to review Keith's paperwork.

The research associate who found Keith believes Keith is Keith, but he has to prove this to the SAG board. This may be difficult. Keith doesn't have a very extensive track record when it comes to documentation.

I am hopeful, though, that the SAG board will see Keith's passport picture, D.C. photo ID, tax papers from last year, et cetera, and realize that this is, in fact, the one and only Keith McCready. There ain't another one like him, though the world would be a better place if there were a few more Keiths in it.

I just think he's so cute. :love2:

Jam, just have keith play some 9ball in front of them, once they see his unique sidearm stroke and say the the words ( it a nightmare is`nt it) They will know it`s Keith.

Heck let me know if they want witnesses I be first in line.

wishing you both the best. H.P.

JAM, I think Keith is the man when it comes to pool! I don't know him as a person, but he seems like a really cool guy.

You know how these threads go. One or two people derail it by talking about his acting performance...then that becomes the topic.

He didn't have enough roles to be able to even tell how good or bad of an actor he is. Maybe an emotional scene would've shown his acting versatility.
Well, I'm getting off topic. His role was pretty big in that movie, and he did what the director asked of him!
Congrats on the royalties! Money is good

I'll stick by my earlier statement. Keth could be a great "character actor"...to portray "Grady Seasons" as well as he did with little to no formal acting lessons showed talent.

JAM...I really do hope you ordered the book I PM'd you about...

I don't see any royalties being tied to how many viewers there are. It seems as if it is someone just playing a prank. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that check. The small part that he did have wouldn't amount to much but he is probably more well know to pool players than a bigger star that had a bigger part and that is Forrest Whittier who played the subject and hustled Fast Eddie.

If anything will all of the movies being made and so many actors it is hard to believe that the SAG would be able to keep track of all of them to pay royalties. If anything I am sure all they are after is back union dues.

Jennie already said they checked the guys credentials & everything seems to match up...Why people got to come on here & say..NO...Can't be !!! when they are the ones not in the know...A simple...good news ..hope it works out for ya'll would be more than enough..U might not look at it as a bash but it sure comes across that way when you say..such a small part....i doubt it...I mean come on now !! Obviously it got to the next stage without somebody asking for credit card information....It is what it is...and it aint what it aint...and it won't be what it can't..so let's just let the chips fall where they may & Hopefully Keith gets a nice Jelly after all this time.

It's too bad you did not read the entire thread. Grady has been receiving
checks the entire time, he had a smaller roll then Keith. Royalties are paid on how many times the event is played,or purchased, not how many people watched it.
When they get the check maybe you could just come back and say your sorry.
thanks mrs.g
ps I am sure that you did not mean for your post to come out like
suck a noitall.
oh and another pss, Keith's line in the movie about it being
a nightmare, is one of the top 200 most quoted lines in a movie.

Maybe JAM will get one of these,

Since it is a big number.........

Look JAM, I was wondering if I might be able to get at the front of the line to put a bite on Keith, afterall, you and I have known each other for several thousand posts at least.

And I didn't knock Keith's action when he was matching up with Scotty....

And when he was trying to do a little gambling with Eddie Brown, I prodded Eddie about as hard as I could without making it seem like I was throwing Eddie under the bus.

And personally I almost let Keith get in my pocket when he was hanging out at Pickle's Sports Bar with Dot.

There..... now that ought to make it easy for him to just start peeling those croakers off like they were growing on trees.

JoeyA :dance::dance: I be second lining. Just so some of you know.

I know the Color of Money is in HD as I watched it on HDNet when I first bought my HD box and Tivo'd it. Just a matter of them releasing it on Blu-Ray now. I've had my box about a year now.

All the proof you need is on accu stats.

Just sayn...

Wow, that is so interesting.

Have you seen that redone "Hustler" DVD with the trailors at the beginning, along with interviews? They have interviews with some of the actors in the movie, directors, and Mike Massey even displays a couple of shots that were in that movie.

I would love to see them do that for "The Color of Money," a redone DVD with tidbits. :grin-square:

I think I might have just gotten a little of my enthusiasm back for pool, by golly! :love2:

Jennie
I got a call a couple days ago about Keith's good news. Please tell him I'm really happy for him (and you of course). I think I've had your grin since the call. :grin-square::grin::grin-square:

We got a phone call from the SAG representative yesterday, and he said he is pushing to have some further news about WHEN the residuals will be sent to Keith this coming Tuesday. There is some bureaucratic red tape and hurdles to jump before funds are released.

After Keith hung up the phone, we started getting all giddy again, dancing in our living room. Keith loves to dance, and so do I. I would love for us to take ballroom dance lessons because it looks so romantic, but he's more into the John Travolta style of dancing, like "Do the Hustle."

We just might have a real Happy Thanksgiving: McCready Happy Dance!

My Sweetie Pie dancing, with Genie Man watching. :happydance::happydance::happydance:

Acting isn't about lines, it's about screen presence.

How many lines did Stalone have in First Blood?

Earned money found, is sweeter than money found.

Congrats
