Keith Mcready!!

I am sickened by peoples lack of respect, the man has given his life to this game,if you love the game then you should also respect the players who have given all for it.

You don't know much. Keith's lifestyle doesn't have a damn thing to do with the state of pool in the United States. The lack of tournament payouts is what is keeping Keith away from pool today.

You, on the other hand, are a prime example of why pool stinks in the U.S.

Take some of those sticks that you seem to enjoy collecting, your only shining light in the pool world, and shove them where the sun don't shine.

JAM

Your exactly right about the lack of tournament payouts.I don't want to travel to a tournament knowing that I have to win it to come out ahead for trip. They need to pay 10% of the field that way the top six could make a little profit.

You are right Fast Lenny, and very, very, few of the greats were close to being angels. Johnnyt

I've only been playing for about 2yrs now and dont' understand the knocking of legendary players.

I've only seen one pro live, Raphael Martinez, and it's amazing how bad my game is when watching the ease and flow the pros show in their games. Videos show this but there's no replacement for watching live.

The personalities of pool pros is why they get fans (not just because of their skill, look at Minnesota Fats), even if most of my exposure to pros is through old videos that are out there. Anyone have any links to videos of Keith woofing it up with anyone? :)

the video is an absolute GEM!!!!

it represents the end of an era, when gunslingers (in this instance two of the greatest)played to shoot pool not tinker with safeties and other assorted crap

I firmly believe that today's players have greater skill but nowhere near the balls of the last generation of champions, not even close

I listened to the TAR interview with Keith today and Keith said he ran 21 racks in a row while gambling. 3 straight sets of 7 ahead 9 ball.

Hard to match that in any generation!!

I might quit pool if someone did that to me!! :D

Many players today are good but BORING!! Keith knows how to have a good time. I love that!

ps looking forward to the Keith vs Billy matchup!!!

hi jam

it is so nice to get to meet people like you here on AzB!! i really enjoy your posts and thoughts and love for the sport.

i know you love keith, and a few things said were untrue, unkind and hurtful, beyond belief.

please don't give such words another thought! like the rest of us here, i was just SHOCKED at those posts!!

quoted from wikipedia:
"with his charisma and gift of gab, he has been heralded as "pool?s ultimate entertainer". McCready plays for the crowd and believes that when there is audience involvement, it creates a better atmosphere."

in my mind, that alone would make one of the greatest improvement in our sport!!

quoted from accu-stats McCready vs. Parica:
"the most entertaining match that Accu-Stats has ever offered. Keith steals the show and the audience approval."

what a wonderful statement too!! i never heard that said about another!!

that should make you feel better!!

all the best and happy 4th!!
smokey

Keith McCready is the greatest showman on earth. Whether he won or loss, it was always pure entertainment.

Am I imagining in youtube video clip of Earl Strickland vs Keith McCready 1988 pt6, did Earl spit in his hand as he was coming to the table?

!!!!!!!!!!!

Jam an Keith happy 4th an holiday weekend. Most individuals that post on this site are into pool. Some that post are just bazook an are clueless about pool an the history of the game. IMO 99.999 of people that post here would love to have the accomplishments of a Keith Mcready. He is one of the most feared players to have ever played 9ball an is truly a living legend, factoid. Nuff Said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is based on a human tendency called envy. In some cultures envy has been rife, such that it is quite normal to pray for the death of a neighbor because he has 2 mules and you have none.

Occasionally in our culture it raises its ugly head. Most people suffer envy to a degree, but have the brains not to feed it, but instead to find a reason to show respect.

Watch out - Pii is a stalker. I gave him red rep, and now he's spouting crap to me in PM form. Best to just leave this wingnut alone, otherwise you too could end up facing the wrath of Pii.

I simply asked to show me where I did what you said I did . 2 PMs of which you responded to and then all of a sudden you call me a stalker and said you were going to tell your mommy.

You're gutless little boy.

JAM,
This is one of my favorite songs and my theme song for 20 years. I'd like to share it with Keith if you don't mind:

Doug

I have always had a special bond with Johnny Cash. He and I share the same birthday, along with Jackie Gleason. He passed away on my daughter's birthday. :sorry:

I grew up listening to Johnny Cash. My family is definitely a little countrified. We all play music; bluegrass, to be exact. I even have an autographed picture of Johnny which I cherish.

This has to be my all-time favorite. I can just hear him now, as he walks out onto the stage, "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash": http://youtube.com/watch?v=k7K4jH7NqUw

Here's Keith's Johnny Cash song  : http://youtube.com/watch?v=2eI4BumtpfA

Today, in the autumn of my life, this is the one I seem to gravitate to: http://youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go

"Everyone I know goes away in the end."

JAM

P.S. Thanks to everyone for the very kind words. They are truly appreciated.

I sure as hell don't look or talk anything like Johnny Cash. But I have dressed in Black since I was a young teen. Black motorcycle jacket, Black jeans and T-shirt, Black engineer boots, Black garison belt with buckle razor sharp. Yes I was a real little punk. Even at 67 I still wear all Black 90% of the time, causing some at the poolrooms and bars to say "the man in Black", when I walk in. Anywhere I go with my wife I must wear a color other than Black for pants or shirt or she won't go out with me. This has helped get out alone many times over the years. My theme song from 1955 Black Denim Trousers.mp3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9VnOnGufr4

And yes I still get chills when I see film of him walking out on stage saying, "hello, I'm Johnny Cash." Johnnyt

Like I said, you're a stalker. I posted ONE freaking post in this thread, left you a neg rep because of what you've said, and now I have 4 PMs, and you're calling me names on a board. Go get a friend. Buy a dog if you can't get a friend. Read a book if they won't sell you a dog. All I ask is you don't choose me as your new project on AZB. There are countless others that have neg'd you, looking at how much green you lost since your post. Go bug Mr. Wilson - he loves this kind of stuff.

Do everyone a favor:

- read the written words carefully.
-deduce all the possible options of what they might mean.
-type carefully your response.

Stop making so much sense. Everyone knows that a few boneheads in the forum a) can't read or read selectively solely to support the venom they post, b) Can't interpret a sentence or paragraph....half of them can't even write one and c) Can't type.

Nuff said,
