Don't worry, someone on the forum will praise Trudeau.
This guy sure doesn't like paying money, does he?
Kind of like how some praise our international brethren of pool players quite often over our Americna Super Stars, like Shane Van Boening.
Everybody has opinions, SJM.
My opinion is that Kevin Trudeau poured close to 10 million into pool that some people appreciate, especially all the BCA Hall of Famers that got $30,000 for just showing up in Orlando at the King of the Hill in December 2005. and I have another opinion that there are members of this forum who people praise and put on a pedestal who raised their capital by taking advantage of the poor, the aged, and the defenseless. A little bit of a double standard, I think.
I'm sure I'll regret wading in, but JAM please think about how this reads.
It sounds a lot like:
"You give me flak for praising this convicted criminal, but you have your own faults.
For example you praise foreign players instead of americans."
It sounds like you're putting "praising foreigners" in the same league as "praising criminals".
Kind of offensive! Obviously they're not.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with SJM giving credit to any player anywhere.
It matters not where he was born, just like the player's skin color or gender doesn't factor in
when giving praise or criticism.
We can't fairly judge people by those things, we can only fairly judge them by their actions.
KT's actions have earned him at least a LITTLE criticism.

Agreed that some good came of Trudeau's tour for a few and I've often praised his plan of replenishing the roster annually by dropping the fifty lowest ranked players. Nonetheless, he was a many-times-indicated crook long before the IPT tour and his tour tried to stiff the players out of moneys due them. In addition, those who hosted qualifiers for the IPT tour were hoodwinked and lost money.
Yes, I'm happy for the fifty players or so that had significant money to show form the IPT events, but my concern is for the sport, not for the individual players. If you think pool came out of the IPT experience stronger, you are entitled to that opinion. I do not. In the early stages of his venture, Kevin openly mocked practically all who were involved in pro pool and made it quite clear that his plan had little to do with the general growth of the game. Some found this so repulsive that they wished for the failure of his venture, although I was not one of those. Those are not opinions, and if you choose to, you can review it all on the IPT forum.
As for my opinions regarding who the best players are, I always offer the justification for my opinions, and welcome those with different opinions to debate with me. That's the joy of this forum.
Contrastingly, I have never read anyone offer justification or explanations for the business plan or practices of the IPT, but I'm prepared to listen. As I see it, the IPT marked the single biggest disconnect ever between pro players and pool promoters, and its aftermath was, at least in part, a cold war between the promoters and the players that sadly rages on today.
Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, and so am I. the truth probably lies somewhere between our opinions when it comes to the IPT, and we can leave it at that.
I'm sure that every one of those BCA Hall of Famers, some of whom hadn't picked up a cue in years, enjoyed pocketing $30,000 just for showing up in Orlando. It is these things that I remember about Kevin Trudeau, how happy he made the players.
You call him a "convicted criminal," and I think of him as someone who lost $10 million in pool.
In 1990, Kevin Trudeau posed as a doctor in order to deposit $80,000 in false checks, and in 1991 he pled guilty to larceny. Trudeau had used the credit cards of eleven customers of the mega memory product to fraudulently charge approximately $122,735.68. He spent two years in federal prison because of this conviction (Choi, 2005). Later, in Kevin Trudeau's book Natural Cures, Trudeau claimed that he has since learned from his experience, and is now motivated to help people rather than merely to make money for himself.
I think this is what drives people nuts and spurs them to argue with you on this subject!
It's like you think the convicted criminal part, is some subjective opinion or interpretation.
Which is why you put it in scare quotes.
It's not. It's simple fact, black and white, a matter of public record. He admits it himself.
That's just the first of several convictions. He was (and still is) a criminal.
Would it be the end of the world to admit that he's at least a "mixed bag"?
CreeDo, seems like you're the one wanting to argue now. Why are you dissecting my words to mean what you want them to mean? I don't get it.
I don't want your words to mean anything bad, I have no anti-jam agenda. You seem basically OK.
What I was originally trying to point out is your comment to SJM has an anti-foreigner vibe.
And you've made other comments that put out the same vibe.
For example the 'boring euro robots' thing, and more recently comments on Larry Chiborak being Canadian.
For someone who is extremely well-spoken, it's weird your words would get misinterpreted so often.
I wanted you to be aware you're putting out that nationalist "us(a) vs them" vibe.
I assume you don't want people thinking you have a problem with foreigners.
On the subject KT, you're of course entitled to any opinion, it just seems really irrational.
How can you defend a guy who scammed desperate people by claiming to have cheap cures
for everything from AIDS to cancer? Pouring 10 million into pool doesn't erase that.

Fair enough. I have to resist the urge to post a pic of Popeye
What's the context of the analacs thing, is there an audio clip online?
I thinking it'll be some super common term that just came out stuttered/mispronounced.
I regret googling for the alternate possible spelling "Analax".
