Largest pool room in the United States or world.

It's breathtaking to walk into the Riviera during the Vegas tournaments and start playing on 250+ tables with 10,000 players.

They store the tables between tournaments so it's not really a pool room.
It's just kewl.

Who's that guy up in South Dakota, IIRC, that was going to build a huge place.

He's a regular poster on AZ and he's also a BCA instructor, but I can't recall his name.

That's NORTH Dakota, thank you very much...

My room will be 28536 sq ft. --quite a bit bigger in area than Q-Master in VA Beach, Shooters in Burnsville, MN, or Big Dog in Des Moines (all good rooms that I've been to multiple times.)

I'll have 58 tables, a mix of 9' Diamonds and Gabriels, 7' Diamonds and Gabriels, and one 6X12 Snooker table

The PVC pipes you see here are for the bar, which will be on a 30'X100' raised platform

Pardone me Mr. Page, :D

I may have to swing up there and issue an apology in person. haha.

Best of luck on the build.

Isn't the owners/managers of Big Dog's from the Dakota's?

I have been to the Lion's Den in Las Vegas and to the club in Munich where Oliver Ortmann was part owner. I seem to recall that they both had close to 100 tables each.

But the biggest one that I heard aboiut was in Singapore. They opened at the height of the snooker boom and had forty tables on each floor. Not many? They did have another nine flloors so that totalled 400 tables.

Sadly Vegas and Singapore sites are gone but there are some pretty big clubs in Taiwan.

The Lion's Den in Vegas had over 100 tables (110 I believe). Mike Massey was the house pro. Sadly, it only lasted about two years. Detroit Recreation had over 100 tables on three floors (Pool, Billiards and Snooker). It closed after WWII. In the golden era of pool in this country (the 1920's) there were hundreds of poolrooms in New York city alone, many of which had over 50 tables. There were several rooms nationally at the time with over 80 tables, in diverse locations like Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco. This was in the heyday of Greenleaf and Hoppe. Mosconi was just getting started. Helfert was only a dream. :p

Nothing compares to turning the corner in the Riviera and seeing all those pool tables for the first time.

It was 1998, and the first time I went to the BCA Nationals in Vegas. I will never forget the feeling when I saw all the tables as I walked in the banquet room!!!!!! All I can remember saying to myself was, "WOW"!!!:smile:
It was certainly a great feeling!!!!!!
I am going again this year.(leaving in a month) I am still very excited, but I will have to admit, the feeling of excitement has wore off just a bit.:D
(I believe Mark G. brings in his own tables now) (Smart move Mr G. ;))

I think there are pool rooms in Germany with close to or even over 100 tables. I need to ask my German friends to confirm this...

What about Country Club USA?

Is Country Club USA in Chelmsford, MA still open? IIRC, it had over 60 tables in three separate rooms, on 2 floors. Not sure if it's still open though.

The ISPA tournament in Iowa has 160 at one time, but only open for 4 days! Not bad for a state tournament. They say it's the largest state tournament.

Looks like the beginning of a great room in ND, Mike. Best wishes -- Did the water go down yet??
