Thanks lisa for the comment. I was up there (Snohomish) for x-mas during the snowstorm. Are you guys still underwater??? I've heard it's tough in some parts right now so hang in there.

Well, I live up on a hill, so aside from some saturated ground, all is good here. There are others who are still waiting from some other rivers to crest yet, but for the most part, the waters have receded in many areas.

Additionally, the side of the hill I live on is more of a gradual slope, so thankfully, no worries of a mudslide.

I have to admit, between the over 2 feet of snow I received, then the fast melt-off, and then 3 days of constant torrential rain...I am more than ready for drier, warmer climes!

I have been on it for 4 years. He told me 5 total and I keep checking in with him, so it is drawing near, I am guessing 8 more years. Last I spoke with him he was working on 2002 and 2003 cues, this was about a month ago and had only made 6 or 7 the year before...

I spoke with Dennis about 5 days ago or so, and he repeated to me what he had mentioned in his ICCS interview....he plans to get approximately 20-25 cues done this coming year, and hopefully the next as well.....unless someone requests something that sends him back into R&D mode again.

Yeah he told me he was working on a new way to do his points (or something along those lines) and did very little "making". He told me the same, he plans on picking things back up this year.

Come on Dennis, this has to be the lightest thread on pictures of a makers cues there is... Fill it up with your magic this year :-D

Yes, he did explain to me in as much detail as I needed to know, what he has been working on. Out of respect for Dennis, I will leave it at that...just suffice to know that he will be delivering a couple of cues at the SBE (if I am not mistaken) that will have his new technique incorporated in them...and they are sure to give many a "V8 Moment". :yeah:

If Dennis makes 25 cues a year it could adversely affect the secondary market and diminish the mystique, but make a lot of people happy. This would be akin to flooding the market and I have mixed emotions on this.

Last I spoke to Dennis, he mentioned that mine was 10th or 11th cue on the list and I've placed my order in 2002, He has not even started doing the blank yet! But he did said that he HOPED to start it May or June  .
So I guessed those on the list need to wait a "bit" longer than what Dennis has quoted. On the other hand, I quite excited about his new technique of doing the veneers.

Snookered <=== don't have a delivery date

Doesn't that depend on who gets ahold of them? I mean, we all know that if people like Greg Howard were to get ahold of them, they'd be up for sale to the highest bidder as quickly as possible, but I think the vast majority of those that will receive them will not be selling...

Just my opinion....

Hey Roscoe,
Why don't you tell everyone how long you waited for your cue, I know a guy whose been waiting for 9 years. I think all of us AZ'ers would like to know how some "Priveleged" get to the top of Dennis's list while others just wait and wait and wait. And must only come to the conclusion that they may never get a cue. I'm holding back now, but if you continue to comment and mention me by name, I will really let everyone know how the list really works. Those of you who see the truth know exactly what I'm talking about and those of you who don't see the truth yet, will. By the way, when are you getting your next one???

I am sure everyone here can figure out certain cue makers don't go totally by no list. Some may like a challenging cues to make, and when one comes up, they want to do it. Some may see a cue that would be very very profitible for them to do, so they do it. Some may see an easy cue to build, and do it. And I am sure there may be a few that actually do go by a list only, but prob not as many as one would think. It all depends on the maker and their personality I suppose. If I had to choose any of these for Dennis (going on what little I have spoken to him), I would say he likes the challenging ones. But I dont know how he does his list really. If mine name dont come up after waiting, I really dont care as it only saves me my money anyways lol...

cough cough cough

You are calling someone else out with your reputation? That is pretty laughable.

I don't even know you, but your reputation precedes you. If a nobody like me knows about you then that is pretty bad.................

Thank you Mr. Taylor.
I'm very proud of my reputation and appreciate your comment. I have always believed that honesty is the best policy. Any "Honest" person in the cue world will agree with you.
Thanks Again,
Greg

What's wrong with Greg's reputation?
If you actually knew him you may change your mind. Most cues he sells, he does at no profit. I am sure alot of people here have gotten a great deal from him at one time or another.
I am his friend and I think my reputation speaks for itself....
<<--Just don't want to see people bashing him that don't even know him.

Sounds like a friend of mine that has been waiting the better part of a decade for a refinish from Shick.

Now if it is a Schick cue, that just down right s*cks lol... I dont care who the cue maker is. If I can't send my cue to the guy who done it, I dont want it. If they are still an active cue maker that is... ESPECIALLY for the amount of money a Schick costs. U buy a Ferrari with no warranty?

I had a deal with Greg awhile back on a cue and have nothing negative to say about the deal or the cue. It was a pleasure doing business with him.

RE: Cough cough cough

It seems like this thread is in danger of turning into a "Let's throw Greg under the bus thread" ......So for what its worth I have done a bunch of cue deals with Greg over the last several years and every one has been right from the start or he has gone out of his way to make them right. His reputation is fine in my book. Without question Greg has a reputation of not holding on to a cue for very long and I'm not sure why that's a bad thing.......If Greg keeps a cue for 10 minutes or 10 years it seems like that's his business.

Regards, Roger
