Linen versus Leather

Me thinks that Linen feels better to me than leather.
Just like that old school feel I guess.....been going
back and forth with this for awhile. Played linen for
years so maybe just what I'm used too.

Also easier to change out anytime. Don't like seams
that appear slightly when matching leather up either
although I appreciate it's wear ability and beauty.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I totally agree. I prefer linen over leather or wrapless. I have not tried stacked leather however.

Linen. This has been discussed often, if you do a search you'll probably see a lot of prefer leather comments.

for a long time.....

For a long time I preferred to use linen too, but I'm starting to warm up to leather now and I might start using a leather wrap here before too long....

Leather

I've changed all my cues to leather. The seam on anyone of them is hardly noticeable by sight. And you really have to stretch to feel the seam.

I'm definitely a linen and linen only guy. I havent tried cork though. I dont
like leather, and I dont like wrapless.

I'm just the opposite. Give me wrapless or give me leather. (didn't Patrick Henry say sumptin' like that?) :groucho:

no, that was Patrick Swayze, Patrick Dempsey, or Dan Patrick, but not Patrick Henry - he was famous for his signature :p

<<<<-------knows his history

It seems like rubber based grip is becoming more popular like the ones on predator sport and Mezz Power Break. It's durable, easy installation and fairly cheap.

I prefer linen much more. I just don't like the feel of a leather grip. I remember seeing one cue on eBay that I was in love with till I saw that it had a leather grip and then it became iffy as to if I was going to buy it or not.

The more cues I try the more I lean to wrapless or leather. It used to not matter to me, but now the slippery linen bothers me a bit. There is a reason Hoppe said leather was best. For me linen slips more. Wrapless and leather don't.

The cues I have with linen wraps have a very very light tack to it. It's not enough to be sticky at all though.

I like pressed and polished linen.. someone once told me the best way to treat a linen wrap was to burnish it every so often with a bounce dryer sheet.....

and I'll be damned... but the grip feels FANTASTIC...

smells better too..

maybe that's just me...
