A big congrats to Ko PIN Ching for a great showing under the circumstances.
A sad day for Pool, I would like to apologize to Ko Pin Yi for what happened to him.
Both events finals would have been Ko vs. Ko if handled fairly.
Pool's integrity was compromised today, and the sport is all the poorer for it.

Souquet forfeited and even though Shane was knocked out they brought him back
instead of the normal bye Ko Pin Yi should have gotten. Black eye for Pool.
Sorry to use part of you name there.
You say Shane was knocked out, but he actually came in second in his group. Even before Ralph's forfeit, CSI was presenting the groups as having a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, including in the 10-ball tournament. It was presented as a 2-stage tournament, not a knock-out or elimination tournament.Souquet forfeited and even though Shane was knocked out they brought him back

Actually I wasn't sure and went to the latest news section to check the spelling
and that's what they had, and I still felt that wasn't right and was going to check somewhere else but forgot, Thank you though I'll fix that right away.
Here it is I found it:
Pin-Yi Ko wins CSI Invitational 10-Ball Championship
"Pin-Yi Ko defeated his younger brother Ping-Ching Ko 11-9 in an all Taiwanese final to win the CSI Invitational 10-Ball Championship on Sunday night at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada."

A big congrats to Ko Ping Chung for a great showing under the circumstances.

This wasn't a double-elimination tournament; this was a round-robin. One competitor from the pool moves forward to the next round.
While it is a rare occurrence, it has happened in other sports. There is precedent for an eliminated competitor advancing in place of one who withdrew after qualfiying to advance to the next round.
Withdrawals After Qualfication- FIFA World Cup "FIFA invited Portugal and France, who had both been eliminated in qualifying, to fill the gaps left by Scotland and Turkey."
Ralph withdrew so the second-highest finisher got his spot. Kudos to the organizers for giving the pool world another great match instead of a bye.
YAY!!!! Sanity...... I was looking for that information.. I knew it had happened but was unaware how far back....
So the biggest sport in the world would have done what CSI did today.... Awesome find......
