Yes, Virginia, they’ve shrunk the pockets.

All the pockets.

The balls are polished, the Simonis new, and the rails nice and springy. You will miss your banks on the short side and your position play on the long side. You will miss shots you are not accustumed to missing because there isn’t enough pocket where you think there should be pocket.

All the usual suspects are in attendance.

If I’m not mistaken the Action Room on the second floor is back —. get your tokens.

Lots of cues, cases, tshirts and pool gimcracks for sale. One cue mechanic is on duty.

The food situation is dire. Pizza joint and Mexican cantina closed. You have a choice of Vietnamese noodles, a grill, and the home style place. There’s a new Gordon Ramsey steakhouse but you can forget about getting in — it’s booked straight through March and the waiting list to sit at the bar is filled up at 445.

Won my first match, grinding out a 3-2 win. That is all for now.

Sounds like someone selling pretzels and hot dogs out of a cart could make a killing!

Congrats on the first win Lou and thanks for the note although it sounds a bit sad on several levels..

The food is horrible

Went to dinner in the steak joint $500 for 2 of us.

Everything else garbage.

I have enough nuts and squirrel food in my room for a few days.

At the Executive West I had a buddy helping me sell beer after hours right outside the tournament door.

You’re going to like this.

I was selling them $3 a piece…or 3 for $10 😆😆😆😆

You don’t know how many people said “give me 3”.

🙄 pool players ain’t the sharpest sometimes.

The people standing around would just do a double take and shake their heads.

I miss the EW

This corporate feeling casino “event” is just too “milk drinker” for me.

There’s action here but something feel different.

Didja have the Wahgoo or what? (I see it is $40 per ounce.) The ribeye is the economy choice at $100. Sides extra.

Went with JRB

Was good food. Better than what ever it was branded as last time I was here.

Tipped $80 service was 10/10
