~*~ Looking for: SW knock-off ebony/purpleheart ~*~

...Clarification....

I am sorry for bumping this earlier... I just wanted to clarify this cause' I got a bunch of pm's:
It's SOUTHWEST KNOCK-OFF/ LOOK ALIKE CUES THAT I WANT.

I am not interested in SOUTHWEST cues!!!

Thank you and tons of apologies.....

Next time I see, I'll let you try my Pre-date SW and 2002 SW...might change your opinion on them. Won the Monday tournament at Steinway yesterday with my 2002 SW...was almost in dead stroke with this cue.

Duc.

Because they are grossly overpriced for what they are. Which is basically a production line cue.

I understand if they are Franklin era going for the prices they sell for but seriously, the latest ones are a complete ripoff.

Does that answer your question?

Duc, when you are in stroke, it doesn't really matter what you play with - more or less.
And I completely agree with Monstermash - SW cues are nothing more but, a ripoff.
Production cues sold at ridiculously high price.
I owned about 16 of them over the years and only liked one. Since then i tried many custom cues and found that many are less expensive and yet, much higher quality cues.
But that is me. SOme people like SW for same reasons they buy Mercedes - the name. None cares about quality, as long it has The name.

Yep exactly! Even though a Honda will get you to the same destination in the
same amount of time. It's more than just the name though, a cue really
is not a cue unless there is a cactus engraved in the joint pin! I have never
played with a SW cue, I have heard too many bad things about them warping,
and their high throughput and lack of design variance is enough for me to
consider them "production".

Now, to add something to this thread, the best SW style design cue out there
on the market IMO would be a Jeff Olney cue. There is one available here now
from saint1 for $850
. Good luck:thumbup:

I do have a China Made SW tribute available for 100.00 but it doesn't have ebony nose. If interested, I can send pics.

Well, personally, I think the playability of this particular SW cue got me into dead stroke. It plays so good...my confidence was on the high. In one match before the money, I decided to change cue to test it out and I was down 3-0. Knowing I made a mistake, I switched back to this SW and when from 0-3 down to 6 - 3 me. Edwin will probably tell you, as soon as I change back to the SW...I literally did not missed a ball until the last rack where I missed a half ball shot on the 6 to run out. Cue plays a big factor in helping you to get to dead stroke, IMHO.

Zeus cue is what you should be looking for.

Contact Chady or R.Paul here. You can also contact them through www.pccues.com. They should be able to get you one.

Yes, that SW factory is really knocking the cues out. All 3 of their employees...people talk about SW employees, production cue bs....everything by hand...not a CNC in the house....

Quality is what SW is selling. If some Chinese production run pos is what you are looking for, no, a SW cue is not for you. If you have never played with one for an extended period of time, you don't have a clue. Just keep stroking with that favorite Lucasi knockoff...you don't want a SW.

People still eagerly waiting for their number to pop up after 11 years of wait. No profit to be made on one anymore due to the new pricing, yet they still wait. All of them, myself included, have no f'ing idea of what a proper cue feels or hits like.

Yep...pick one of their SW series, or maybe one of their nice JMW or MC series......maybe get you one named the "god of lightning". That should really pick your game up. All original designs and ideas for only $565 and up...a real value purchase. They should hold their values over time much better than the real deals, especially with that giant ized logo.

Production LIne? What production line? Is there a 11 to 13 year waiting list for production cues? Are they not the must copied cue style and construction ever? I never under stood about being known for warping. I own 3 and all are straight. They would probably be the least likely to warp. Any cue will warp if not taken care of properly. There are just folks out there who are just S. W. haters, pure and simple.

Wow ...now that's some advertising here.
Sorry for bumping again...but my thread became something I don't agree with....
Joe, it's nice to have your opinion here buddy and after this post Laurie will maybe reduce the waiting time for your "same cue as anyone who ordered one in the last 15 years".
FYI I had 2 and after I tried each one for 1 month they left my collection for less than 80% of the price I paid for. So I lost cash after waiting 5 years...wow. that's not gonna happen wirh my Lucasi knockoff!!!

Again please keep this ontopic and share your opinions in other thread from review area.
APPRECIATED!

Joe, I owned 16 of them over last 20 years. So, believe me - I have a clue.
Had Gunky's Sw, had few other famous Sw cues. And guess what? I only liked 2 out of 16. The rest hit like average Schon or Scruggs.
I stand by my words - I would take Prewitt, Kersenbrock or Szamboti over SW cue any day.
Just keep stroking with that favorite Lucasi knockoff...you don't want a SW.
That is right- he doesn't want SW. Nothing but a hot air balloon.

People still eagerly waiting for their number to pop up after 11 years of wait.
And many after receiving their SW are trying to sell them. yes, quality is there - fancy work, nice rings, even points. One small thing missing - the hit.
No profit to be made on one anymore due to the new pricing, yet they still wait. All of them, myself included, have no f'ing idea of what a proper cue feels or hits like.

People are waiting because they have been waiting for years so, why stop now? Plus, if you want to buy a SW cue, there are plenty out there. Just look. No waiting, no gimmicks.

No SW haters, just simple facts. When you talking SW cue - anyone will tell you - oh yeah, SW shafts have play, a lot of them do. That is a known fact. How is that acceptable for such a "great" custom cue? 2 words come to mind - green wood
I have many high end cues and none ever had a warped shaft. And out of 16 SW cues i owned,at least half had play in shafts.
But yeah, they are such a great cue. You keep your SW and I will stay as far away from them as i can.
