Lost another player

Gone to soon.

I am sorry to hear about George. May he rest in peace. My condolences go out to family and friends. Always sad to lose someone.
Regards,
Lock N Load.

My thoughts and prayers got to his friends and family. The pool world has lost a great way to soon in his life.
RIP Ginky

True or not there is no reason to bring it up on here-let his fans remember him properly-dont worry about how

Very very sad indeed..

I hope the poster that put the cause of death is absolutely certain.. Otherwise, it would be in very poor taste to put speculation on a board as rumors can be & are very hurtful.. Even if I knew, I'd personally not be comfortable putting such information on a forum.. JMHO!

One of my early memories of Ginky was bout 4 years ago when I first started getting into pool, I was practicing long straight shots on the tight pocket table - table 6 @ Masters. I was terrible, banging balls into the rail but i kept trying and trying. Ginky was playing on a table near by. So after a while, Ginky comes over and says "Hey Linda, when you start off put the balls closer together until you get better at those and then move them apart ok?" I was thinking, wow a pro knew my name?!? I was so starstruck and impressed by how nice he was. And he always said hello and talked to us. And that's how I'll always remember him, as one of pool's greatest players who left us way too soon.
He was in alot of pain and no longer suffering now... RIP Mr. Ginky

Wow, sad and shocking news to be sure. He will be missed - may George rest in peace.

I'm still in shock. Wife can't comprehend it and has already called me twice from her job about it; not believing the news. He was one of the best we here in nyc, ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was always open to help anyone out with their game and just about any other advice he could give. Although I've only known him personally for a few yrs, he was the type of guy that would tell it to you straight and I've always respected him for that. I'm sure the news will hit our city hard, as well as many other people and places. Its really heart breaking to hear of his passing while still so young to go. He was probably one the best teachers a player could ever have; being very well known for his work ethic in the game he loved. I still can't believe this shit. Just spoke to him not one week ago. This sucks...

My heart felt condolences goes out to his family and loved ones, as there were many.

RIP Gink... You're gonna be f*cking missed a great deal bro.

I've known Ginky a long time and this really is sad news. I remember him up and coming playing at the Tuesday tourney in West End in the late 80's. That really is a shock. I know he had tough times, but wow, unbelievable.

Unreal.

Don't even know how to express just how sick to my stomach I am since getting the call about the passing of the Ginkster, we first met 22 years ago and became good friends and always enjoyed each others company, enjoyed some good times together over the years at different tournamments and I'll forever cherish our trip to Las Vegas for the BCA tournament back in 1997 -- we had more laughs and had such a great time that week with memories that will last my lifetime.
Rest In Peace Brother -- I'll miss you dearly and think of you often!

My condolences to his family and friends and May the Good Lord have Mercy on Him, see you again someday my friend!

George was at one time (the late 90's) one of the top ten players in the world. He was always a pleasure to see at tournaments for his friendly manner and wonderful game. When he dropped off the pro tour I missed him and it was nice to see him again at last year's U.S. Open. His game had slipped a notch but he remained the same friendly guy as before.

I'll never forget when Earl first went to New York for a tournament and this unknown pounded him in the finals. That was the beginning of a brilliant few years where "Ginky" was a force to be reckoned with. Then his life took a tragic turn from which he never truly recovered. Sad that it had to end this way. I always pulled for him to make a big comeback and emerge a champion once again.

He left his mark on the pool world though, the best player in the entire Northeast for many years. In his prime "Ginky" was a dominant force and one of the best. RIP my friend. I hope you're at peace now.
