Louie Roberts award

I agree Shane should win he was in constant action.....One pocket,8 ball,10 ball.He played anyone at their game. As far as the Fatboy thing goes it was cool but in my opinion take into consideration who is the bigger gamblers the guys who have a couple million and bet $100,000 or the guys who have $1500 and bet $1000

We might have to come up with a new catagory for TAR because they brought the action to hundreds and hundreds of us that would NEVER have been able to see it otherwise........FREE 24/7 with commentary! If nothing else everyone that got the live feeds could spread a little jelly over at thier site!

As far as the players go, there were a bunch of guys in action the whole time, but Shane was in the biggest and won the best match ups. Honorable mention could go to guys like:

>Justin Cone- action hound up n comer who can play! but made some bad games.

>Scooter- constant barking, and in 100% action 24/7 even with himself! ;)

>Cliff Joyner- another guy who never seemed to sleep, but was a little "off" this DCC.

>Scott Frost- SUPER 1 pocket player, and VERY good commentator with the nads to tell it like it is!

Thanks again to the TAR crew, and my vote would go to them hands down.

I'm siding with Gerry on this one, he is bang dead on!

LOL!!! I often wonder how everyone seems to tell the entire internet the rules of the award when they aren't part of the committee!

THere are no rules against winning the award twice.

Fred <~~~ head of the Louie Roberts A/E committee

Speaking of Rules & Fools and such.... I may be mistaken, but I 'think' the rule of voting on the LR Award is limited to people that were AT the DCC.
However, many of the people & players that were AT the DCC, didn't spend as much time IN the action room as many of the online viewers/chatters did.

I spent from 80-100 hours watching & reading chat and I feel that I know about as much about what was going on as anyone that was AT the DCC.
Even though we viewers/chatters couldn't see the action on some of the the tables, we were kept abreast of what the action was and who was playing by the excellent commentators (including you).

I'm certain that whoever is picked as this year's winner will be deserving of the award, but don't overlook the opinion of the viewers that logged in 100s of hours 'sweating the action' too.... imo

I agree Smorg, < aka Spotasaurus > I can vouch for you being there at least 80-100 hours. There wasn't much action going on that the viewers did not have knowledge of.

What kills me though is how people like to enforce the issue that they know more than others about the subject because they are part of the COMMITTEE and do so by announcing it to all.

There are many other ways to come across that others are incorrect in the thinking rather than "rubbing their nose in it" because they are part of the special organization and others are not. JMO

its really a 3 horse race. Shane, scooter, and Roadman justin cone. with Monster Jon getting a slight push.

Let's just have our own vote...for the online geeks and gurus official LR action award....

(Who's gonna start the poll???)

The "Beer Match" between these two must have been entertaining.

It may not win the award, but imo it should at least have received a honorable mention.

Well, I'd vote for Shane Van Boening IF I had a vote, which I don't, but If I did I would.
Doug
( hell, I might vote for SVB for President if he was running, but he isn't, but he might and then I WOULD ) :)

... imo

Thanks to everyone for voting for TAR :D but the LR award should go to a player. In my mind it comes down to 2.

Shane and Justin Cone with Scooter winning the special award for most entertaining wild man.

I vote for Shane because he played all 3 tournaments as well as being in action. I didn't think the kid could impress me anymore than he already has, but he did. He was amazing. Really no contest IMO (Hi easy!!!)

I agree that it should be Shane. And I think Shannon D. and Tony C. should get the ANTI-Louie Roberts award. What happened to their match, who backed out. Earlier in the week Tony was in your booth and mentioned that he thought Shannon would back out and maybe he was right. Too bad that could have been one heck of a match to watch. Thanks agank guys for everything all week it was awesome and I watch all of the Shane and Alex matches, man those were fun to watch, I was kind of hoping Alex would win the final one to make the March match a little more interesting.

Thanks Again, Now go get some sleep.

But sadly all that playing probably cost him the 9 ball title. I saw him Sat. morning and he looked "tired" and shot like it. He missed some shots against Soquet that he never would have earlier in the week. After that match he took a rest and came back but when he got knocked out he was plain "beat". He gets my vote. What a great player and person.

Gotta think Grady should get a mention. At his age, playing as long, several sets, and for as much as he did against Justin, took alot of heart. I believe he even forfeited one match in the tournament to keep playing. If you saw him playing, you can see what a toll it took on him.

Grady should definitely be in the running - maybe for the lifetime achievement award for stirring up action - AND betting on HIS OWN MONEY
