Now wait a minute, with all due respect, three in the side is not exactly the greatest shot ever made. In fact he may have come up short on what he was really trying to do. I suspect he called the ball in the side in case it goes and with the spin he put on the cue ball I think he was trying to get to the bottom rail below the last ball, a two way shot. Also should it go he has a workable shot on the last ball in the side or the far corner.

I just read some of the other posts and I am sorry I just repeated what was already said but I am glad I am not the only one who actually thinks he messed up the shot and got lucky. I think this thread would have a different title if the ball stopped in front of the side pocket selling out.

It's another under-used Golf shot. Nicely done. People know a million one-hole shots today, but imagine knowing them for all pockets!
 
Man that was an eye opener. The guy in the crowd sure loved it :p I love how ralf does his pool ninja thing and just keeps calmly strolling like it was no biggie. I try to emulate that but sometimes it's hard not to chirp a little.

I think it is a helluva shot...considering it was also hill-hill at the time...and I do not believe it was 2-way to hide behind ten...would have had to hit it much harder and then the 9b would rolled to be in line with the bottom left

no offense but I did that same shot in pool league one night .... yea I called it in dumb 8 ball and it WAS on a 9 footer!

Consider the circumstances though

You have to consider it's hill hill and a called pocket game. Besides Ralf is one of the most calculating players out there. He knew his odds were better shooting than playing safe and giving up the table.
