I always put Keith and David in a class by themselves, but Buddy belongs in there too. He could play as good as anyone on any table back in the 70's, 80's and well into the 90's.
David and Keith were a little more solid then Joey. Joey had to have his mixture right and he could break down if something got to him. Keith and David never broke down. When the pressure was on and the money was on the line these two guys only played better and better. When Keith got down and his opponent was not missing a ball, that's when he wanted to RAISE the bet! Nobody ever could out bet Keith. Or play better for serious money.
Keith was a once in a lifetime talent. And David played a different style of bar pool than anyone else. He just overpowered the table and the balls. Keith was more of a finesse player. David could force that cue ball to go anywhere he wanted. He played the bar table like he owned it. He knew exactly how to hit every shot to get good position for the next shot. Keith might get out of line once in a while (and make the shot anyway). David never got out of line! Not for hours and hours.
