My Avatar is my own sarcastic comeback to all the cheesy pics of a women I have to look at every time I come to this forum.

The sarcasm was lost on me, unfortunately.

I simply thought you liked to show off the kind of man that attracts you.

I said I wouldn't be posting for awhile. However, I still read the board. Someone sensed a respectable woman here of jealousy when I knew it wasn't the case and I responded with a rebuttal.

I did not accuse her of being jealous. I said I sensed jealousy but I could be wrong.
But, you did accuse Williams of being manipulative.

I think she'd be a better match with Sardo.

I certainly don't blame her for taking advantage... and I definitely don't blame Poison Cues for taking advantage of her looks to sell their product. That was my whole point... I think it's a great match. If her great rack can sell Poison Cues, then everyone wins! That's how endorsement works.

By the way, I think it's important here to distinguish the difference between endorsement and sponsorship. They are not the same.

An endorsement is defined as the expressed or implied recommendation by a popular and/or well-respected and/or influential person, of a particular manufacturer's product, product line, or service(s). (In marketing and advertising terms)

Yeah, if she was sponsored by Sardo, the ad could read, "For those who want a great rack every time."

hehehehehee.....:D :D :D

My apologies then.

But Williams is manipulative, and that isn't passing judgement on him. I learned from experience when I was hired by Charlie/Dragon Promotions at a couple tournaments. It's not a story I wish to recount on this board.

She's hot and she plays pool.....was lucky enough to see her while hanging with the boys in Jacksonville....JCIN and Easy....she seemed nice enough as well....

If their sales numbers and profits go up, they made a great decision....

If they go down, they didn't.....

Sponsorship is purely to drive business....there are plenty of figures in sports over the years and weren't in the top 10 rankings....sometimes not even close.....but they were easily in the top 10 earners....it's all marketability.....last time I checked, John Daly still makes a ton from sponsors, but he was rarely making a cut on the tour....but he moves merchandice...it's just good business...

This cracks me up, Talk about marketing and looks and assets.....not that I really care, but look at your avatar.

MFB,
I don't think you get what cue chick's avatar is about, I think it a gig for all the fellas who have half naked women for their avatars. It's tit for tat...no pun intended.
Cuechick you rock!

However, Charlie Williams is with Predator... he supports Miss Loraine (for reasons that can be left unsaid)... therefore she gets the job.

JCIN and Poolsnark... you nailed it.

Marissa,
I'm sorry but this has to be looked at from a business standpoint, and why would any company choose a representative that wouldn't fare as well with fans? If they know their target, and Shanelle fits that... then they have made a business decision that will hopefully increase sales. No one picks an endorser because they are a friend of a friend. (well, I shouldn't say "no one" but really, that would be ridiculous and unwise)

Sorry for the repost but it got buried as the last post on a page....

She should be sponsored by Sardo....

Then the ad could read "For those who want a great rack, every time".

Well if that was directed at me, then yes you are wrong. If given the option to look like Shanelle or play pool like Karen Corr, I would take the later any day of the week!!

I turned plenty of heads in my day (which honestly is more annoying than anything else) but beauty fades, pool is forever!

Sorry, that quote (or something very similar) is being used by the MASTER RACK Co.

Maybe she will prove herself & do well. Then she can cover up for the sake of modesty.

Bad decision. Any body can learn how to play pool, nobody can learn to be beautiful.

Jeanette Lee is a great player but she doesn't make 10x more endorsement money than Corr because she's been playing better pool than Karen the last 5 years. The looks factor will always be there, and thats the way life is.

There are plenty of girls who get paid for just modeling- I don't see any reason why model caliber looks PLUS some ability at a game shouldn't allow them to make money through endorsements.

Michelle Wie is a multi millionaire and has a hard time making a cut these days.

Anyone can learn to play but not everyone has the pure talent of a champion like a Karen, Allison or Jasmin. And in this day and age a lot of that "beauty" is bought and paid for.

As many of you know, I have admired Shanelle from a distance for some time now. Yes, I like to look at beautiful women, and the fact that she plays pool makes her even more attractive to me.

Those who have met here all seem to think she is a great gal, with the personality to match her looks. And it appears she is working hard on her game, so she can have a chance when she tries a qualifier or two. I can find no fault with anything she's done, and more power to her for whatever sponsorship she receives.

I remember a young Jeanette Lee asking me to introduce her to the heads of several major pool companies. I said sure, why not. She hadn't won anything yet. Well, she sold herself to them, got the help she needed and took the pool world by storm. Jeanette is a very good player, usually staying in the top ten on tour, but her endorsement deals dwarf all the others. One smart lady!

Actually being blessed with great beauty can be a handicap for a woman. While trying to forge ahead in her life, she must fend of every kind of advance that a man can conceive of. I wish her the best, and I hope that she succeeds in making it to the pro tour. She wouldn't hurt attendance, that's for sure.

Yes, and my diabetes is affecting my eyesight. I spent hours staring at a girl's butt everytime that she leaned over to shoot, only to find out while buying her a drink, that she was a HE... Oy-Vey !
