i wonder why megan minerich does not make it to the tv rounds i do know that she is a good player:)

thanks

Another brilliant pearl of wisdom from our very own Travis Trotter.

She's a good player, I've played her. But I don't think she's in the same league as Ga Young or Pan or Corr. At least not in 9-ball. She's a good straight pool player.

I agree with Cuechick, Megan is GOOD, but good just isnt enough anymore on the ladies tour.

I'd rank Megan almost as a mid-level player on the ladies tour.

Now, this is the catagories I'd put the girls in.

Elite
Top
Mid
Lower

Now girls like Jasmin, Pan, Ga-young, Karen, Jeanette, Allison, Monica are Elite, they are always making a good finish in a tournament and are always a threat to win any tournament.

Top- Kelly Fisher, Gerda, Helena, Vivian, Sarah Ellerby, Tiffany Nelson, Ewa, Melissa Herndon.
While they are still a threat to make a top finish and even win a tournament, they are not as consistent as the Elite girls

Mid- Mainly the girls ranked 17-32 in the standings, They consistantly place in the top 32 or so, but are not good enough to consistantly place in the top 16.

Lower- The girls ranked 32 and lower.

All I have to say is that the Women's tour is deep. Only a few players don't belong out there. There are many who are ranked in the bottom half of the field who are capable of springing an upset on anyone else. The top twelve to fifteen players are all real tough.

It is more competitive than ever before, and will only get more so as the money goes up. Just watch. I put Kelly Fisher in that elite group. She has a big game. The top women like Allison, Karen, Jasmin, Pan, Ga-Young, Kelly F., Jeanette and Monica all play a lot closer to the men than you might think. They actually play very close to the speed of the second echelon men right now. Guys like Tang, Max, Troy, Danny Medina and others don't have to like it in a match with the above ladies. They may be slight favorites is all.

I really think you have to move Kelly Fisher to the Elite group, I believe she is number 3 right now and very very close on Corr's heals!

Megan is a solid player that has spent most of her WPBA career ranked in the 20's. I think you'd be amazed at just how few players ranked in the 20's have reached the TV rounds in WPBA play. It's a far rarer occurrence than most people think. Players ranked in the 20's occasionally score upsets against some of the elite, but can rarely produce the type of sustained excellence required to reach the TV rounds.

As deep as the WPBA fields have become, it's looking tougher than ever, although 26th ranked Anna Kostanian nearly pulled it off last weekend in San Diego.

The only reason, I really didnt think Kelly Fisher belonged in the Elite is cuz, she seems to only be able to win at one location San Diego.

Now maybe she's a won hit wonder, but she just doesnt make a deep impact on my radar. I know she's got some good skills but, untill she wins at a different location, I cant really justify putting her into the Elite.

Anna may only be about 4ft 10 in tall, but, she is tough.

Megan is a neat lady, great player, will get there and also has the coolest walk of the ladies.

Second to that!!

I met Megan back in 2003-2004 (I think) when I was out there playing tournaments. She even let me stay at her home with her in Denver when I won a qualifier!

She is an extrodinary person. We got along great and I loved her sense of style - she also is a very attractive woman. Not to offend any other girls, but I always felt she was the BEST looking girl on tour - no doubt - and no, I'm not a lesbian!! In fact, she was with me in Reno when I first met Alex!! I haven't kept in touch with her like I would've wanted too, but I always am wishing her the best. She has all the capabilities and determination to become an elite player, it's just a matter of putting it all together.

Whatever the case, I am honored to have befriended her and hopefully, in time she will really shine. One day maybe I'll start playing tournaments again and hopefully bump into her again. That would be great!

Yet you ranked Monica who has never won a WPBA title, let alone 3 and Jeanette who has not won a title in many many moons as Elites? Which I agree they are, but this does not match your own logic.

Kelly's multiple wins in SD is an amazing achievement only topped by Allison winning I believe the Peoria event 4 times. Kelly has multiple World Snooker titles and is now less than 2000 points from breaking into the top 2, something no one else has come even close too in the last, 5 years at least!

I have not only seen Kelly play, but I have played her (winning one more game than Jasmin did, fyi) and she has it all. She may not be on your Elite list but she is on mine, and I would bet, more than not on this board would include her on theirs.

I would put Kelly in the top echelon also. I've only seen her play on tv but she looks to me to have the whole package.

Kelly Fisher May be Number 1

Kelly is a 6 time world snooker champion. I have had the pleasure of having her play in a couple tournaments at my pool hall. She plays lights out and just last week beat Jasmine 7-0 in San Diego. Yes San Diego is only one tournament but she has won three straight. She currently resides in Charlotte NC so I wouldn't consider San Diego to be a home court for her, although if I were her I might consider moving there.

The Womens tour has gotten deeper over the past several years and continues to show continuing strength. Since they have changed the format to single elimination for the final sixteen we have begun to see many new faces. Many of the ladies do not like the new format but it has accomplished its goal by making more woman visible to the general pool scene. Good marketing. Its not just Allison and Karen any more.

Phoebe,

When are you coming back on tour? I was winning money betting on you. haha. You were moving up the rankings fast as I recall. And I really believe you had what it took to win out there. That darn little Alex.

I liked the way you played under pressure. Always cool and stayed focused. You would have definitely been in the top ten. And weren't so hard on these old eyes either. I know you must have wanted to be a mother, and your kids must be beauties. So good luck to you always.

I still like your hubby. He is a breath of fresh air wherever he goes. If pool ever got big, he would be a superstar. I can see why he wants to play in Asia, where it IS big.

If they ever have a doubles tourney, my money is on the Pagulayan team!
