Message from JOHNNY ARCHER

I'm sure everyone has said something out of line to someone at one time or another. I don't find it appropriate that the text messages were shared by someone that wasn't the original recipient, if anyone Mike should have been the one to post them. That was a private conversation between two people not public.

Johnny doesn't owe anyone any explanations. He offered to answer whatever questions he can that aren't covered by the confidentiality agreements which he doesn't have to do. What he says or does in private is nobody's business and nobody should be getting involved in it unless you yourself have never said or done anything wrong.

Roberta, you seem like a very nice person and I understand that you believe that you are "protecting" the people who you care about......but your post is totally illogical, you are creating and advocating your own set of faulty and invalid (im)moral rules and standards.

Unless there was a privacy agreement beforehand where the primary parties agree not to divulge their correspondences to each other, neither party has the right to object if either make it public. In the event that the correspondence is then shared with a third party, as long as the third party has the permission of the original recipient or sender, he too is totally within his moral and legal rights to make it public. The message is fair game.

Secondly, people who are in the public eye, especially those who are voluntarily in leadership and representative positions, have relinquished their right to the same privacy rights that we who aren't in the public eye take for granted and they have to understand that their actions, including their private actions, will always be subjected to public scrutiny. That just comes with the territory, and I believe that it a good thing. We should expect a higher standard from our "leaders".

And when discussing the actions of any particular person, it doesn't matter a hoot what horrible things anyone else has ever done in their life. The fact that someone else, somewhere in the world, has done more horrible things does not justify that same horrific behavior from any other person. If it did, we would be justifying lower standards, not higher ones.

If I am going to cling to someones nuts at least its a legends! its not some 25 year kid who works in a pool hall that shoots decent pool ;)

The 25 year old who broke and ran a set on JA in Vegas which probably led to the disliking of him.

Good point.

Touchdown, Jesus!

I don't know what this thread is about and all. But I do know Big Butter Jesus when I see him!

true! so you would think cleary can relate to BB and he would be backing all those involved in it, right? :D

dont walk to far away lol

I did just purchase a Chicago Rockets tshirt from their online store. Still waiting to get it though.

Big Oe

Hi Johnny, our mutual friend Big Joe from Cleveland asked me to say hello and good luck to you.You always called him Oe.

lol :) you coming on here begging for people to pay your entry fee into a tournament and then getting drunk and not been able to make it to your match and then trashing JA character is priceless! you sir are the "michelangelo"

To be clear, I didn't "beg" for anything. I said if people want to back me to play, It will be funny... and I personally cannot think of a funnier situation.

But the people who invested in me had the same odds of seeing a return as the people who invested in bonus ball.

Ugh. So much wrong here.

If he and his organization weren't fudging with the game, fudging with the fans and fudging with other pro-level players, then you'd be completely right. So, other than that..

You're just as entitled to your opinion as I am. I stand by what I said, those texts shouldn't have been made public unless it was by Johnny or Mike; what goes on between the is between them.

As far as their organization, that has nothing to do with me. The way it is run is determined by the people in charge.

It seems that most of the posters on this thread are incapable of having a serious discussion on what could be one of the landmark threads on this forum.

I'm sorry Roberta, but you come off ear as just another blinded by fame, kind of fan. Say that they shouldn't have been released, and not addressing what was said. Let's say Mike posted them, then what would you have to say. I personally am incredibly disappointed by the texts. Gives Johnny, BB & ABP, and pool in general a black eye. JA is suppose to be the captain of pool in the USA. He should hold himself to a higher standard and you should hold him to the same standard.

If were going to look to JA as the lead guy in American pool, I'm OK with that. But if your gonna be the leader, LEAD. Don't set yourself and your group up for easily avoidable failures. JA is the elder statesman hear, and he should be the lead guy on american pool. He's earned it. Now all he has to do is act the part.

So, it's okay for a player in charge to @#%^ another player, just as long as we don't know about it. That's what you mean, right? That's why "pro pool" sucks a big, fat donkey weiner. You want to know what's right about it? People like JCIN and his crew working hard to put a good product out there. People like Mark Griffin working hard to put a good tournament and league out there. People like those here at AZB working hard to put together and maintain a good site.

I don't like to support organizations that @#$% somebody because they just don't like them. That's my business, you can go ahead and support CW screwing people over.

I agree with what you say about people in the public eye giving up privacy. I don't agree with text messages being made public. When I am texting someone I'm having a private conversation that I have every right to believe will not be made public. That being said, I get what you're saying which is why I don't put anything in writing that would bother me it it were made public.

I usually agree with you. I'm glad this was made public. It actually shines a glaring light at the REAL problem with Pro pool. It's not professional at all. Little cliques running around making moves, and this guys screwing that guys, and blah, blah, blah... The long and short is that for Pro pool to work ALL the players need to be on board, and on the same page. As of right now, its a monkey shit fight at the zoo...

I laugh every time I hear people act like this pro, and that pro are just GREAT people, and can do no wrong. They are all still humans, and pool players at that. They all have many faults, and have done some less that honorable things. It's life.

Just to be clear without knowing the entire conversation I can't really say what I would think but by just seeing what was posted it definitely doesn't reflect well on Johnny.
