Mike Andrews...

This is the PM I just got from Mr. Big shot, Mike USN.

"Any day you are ready to really play just let me know. 10-ball race to 7, you giving me the 7,8,9. CALLED SHOTS.

You are a better player so that sport is nessisary. I never said I was better then you.

I could care less if I loose! Beucase EVERY SINGLE time I walk away from a table, I have learned something. Your game is where it is, will it change? Will you get better? I don't know, but I have over the last year put a lot of time and effort in my game. I JUST started playing 2 years ago. Were you where I am at now after only playing for 2 years? I doubt it.

I have no idea why you act the way you do, you are holding on to something that happned last year, and deal that YOU made, and YOU broke. Why do I get treated like shit by you? I did NOTHING to you. You stood there and TOLD me and Geoff, "DONT LET ME GIVE YOU $50.00, ILL GIVE YOU A CUE TO RAFFLE OFF AND THE LEGION CAN MAKE WAY MORE MONEY"

I MADE NOTHING... NOTHING off that tournament I did it for charity, all the moeny wen't to soldiers overseas, so why are you all pissed off about that.

Grow up, and any time you want to play I will PLAY you for table time, just to beat your ass."

Pretty bold Mikey, looks like little dog is venturing off the porch. Time to smack him with the newspaper again.

Mikey, you are so green at this you don't even know what you don't know.

Okay lets do the 7 out in 10 ball race to 9 for let's say $500?? I know you are not a gambler, but if you can find someone to back you (laugh) then I'm just as happy to take their money too. As far as playing for table time and teaching you, that sounds more like a lesson.

BTW I gave you $100 dollars for being a sponsor at your first event and all you have done is call me a liar and continue breaking my balls. I got nothing in return but a corner in the VFW, no introduction, no promotion of my raffle ticket sales (the potential source of your $100). Man up and let's settle this. When I take your $500 I'll give half of that to any charity you like!! (Quote me, just do it correctly.)

Steer clear of this guy no player, no promoter...NOBODY.

Why don't you guys settle this via PM? Isn't it obvious yet that NOBODY gives a shit about anything you guys are saying? Grow up.

Some of the things Mike have said were uncalled for. Im a very nice guy, but he got on my bad side quick.

I have noticed a trend on forums in general where it's always the same members who post comments when there's a gang-bang.

I don't know Mike Andrews from Adam or Eve, but I don't think he deserves to be gang-banged on this forum.

I realize it's my opinion and others may disagree. I just don't enjoy the posts where one member of the forum is being ganged on by others, though these are the threads that multiply in number quickly. What does that say about this forum and its membership as a whole?

I will stand in the minority, most likely, expressing my opinion. We get the picture. Why continue to rip the guy to shreds?

I'll be done if I don't hear anymore from monkeyboy. Other than posting his response to the $500 grudge match.

Easy-e read the last few pages, he needs an education on respect.

I was curious, so I checked www.yourdictionary.com:

Searched for antistasis. Search took 0.02 seconds.
Your search - antistasis - did not match any documents.
No pages were found containing "antistasis".

I checked also with alternate spellings, perhaps he meant this from dictionary.com:

a⋅nas⋅ta⋅sis
/əˈnæstəsɪs/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [uh-nas-tuh-sis] Show IPA

–noun, plural -ses  /-ˌsiz/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [-seez] Show IPA .
a representation, in Byzantine art, of Christ harrowing hell.
Origin:
< Gk anástasis a raising up, removal. See ana-, stasis

If there was a "gang-bang", I was unaware of it and want no part in it. My wife would be pissed!

He was very harsh to me in another thread and I backed myself up. He was also dead wrong and others let him know. Im not part of a gang and have never seen "master9baller" before nor know who he is.

as I...

As I said in the other thread I am done dealing with you kids. Master9baller is a kid Brian from Syracuse, who no one at his own pool room can stand. He is a loud mouth, and talks shit to a number of people. He mad a deal with me and backed out of it. yes he beat me in a weekely tournament big deal. I am not running around braggin gabout beating him the night I beat him.

He is an idiot, and will continue to talk a bunch of crap, because he sent me an e-mail saying he was going to talk crap becuase he has something personal against me.

I never called anyone out. Brain called me out, and I told him I would play just to beat him, and shut him up. I told Chris I would play him a grudge match too, but that really wansn't ment to be anything... and he is not interested.

Brian is upset becuase he has failed as a promoter, he tried to get some tournaments going, and no one showed up, he has tried to sell cues and failed. He used to carry a big case with him, to try and sell cues, but he does no longer. So keep up your lies Brain, you are nothing. You fail to see that people at your own pool hall can't stand you, they all were laughing at you last week. Drop it Brian get over your self.

I don't know who this "Mike" is. I have asked him THREE TIMES -- I repeat THREE TIMES -- on this forum if he is Allen Hopkins' good friend, "Big Mike." I have not gotten a response yet.

That said, he is entitled to his opinion. There's a lot of pool folk who feel EXACTLY the same way as he does about action. These pool purists enjoy watching pool in a pristine environment, almost like a church, where you can hear a pin drop. They prefer the players to have robotic movement and non-emotional personalities. Hey, if that's their cup of tea, that's cool.

One thing for sure, whoever Mike is, he is trying to make something happen in the pool world, as opposed to sitting back on a keyboard and ripping others to shreds on the Internet. I gotta give credit where credit is due.

I may not agree with his logic or opinion, but I respect him for trying to make something happen in the pool world.

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing. -- Theodore Roosevelt

I am not "big mike"...

This sounds like a personal issue that doesn't really need to be aired out on here, by either of you.

Well that truce didn't last long!

Mikey, everyone here is laughing at you (just focus and read). I never wanted to be a hot shot promoter like yourself. I know you keep talking smack, heard you talking last week after your best attempts to shark me playing the 10 ball. No matter, remember who took $1,350 out of it for running 9 of 10 balls a few weeks ago? That's right, and I'll be back to get the rest when I'm drawn again.

BTW I do sell McDermott if anyone is buying. %40 percent off plus shipping on any 2009 cue in honor of our boy Mikey here.

I love how this guy knows what "everyone else thinks". What is he Creskin the magnificent (please check my spelling on Creskin)? Not only does he know everything about pool, military strategy and promoting, he knows what you and I think. I am impressed.

I DIDN'T HAER THE ANSWER TO THE $500 QUESTION, sounds like no. Well maybe you could get one of your many sponsors to back you. Good luck with that, punk.

I don't know why Mike has not simply answered this question for you JAM, so I will fill you in.

Mike is a pool player and enthusiast who had a good idea for a tour. He met my father at some event over the last year, maybe in Valley Forge - I'm not sure. He explained his idea to my dad, and they talked for a while. After several months (?) of intermittent discussions back and forth, they launched the idea for this tour. My dad put his name behind it, based on the fact that he would oversee operations and have the final word on important decisions. Whose ideas were whose I really don't know all of that. Nor does it concern me.

As you know, my dad tries his best to look out for the players, and his name is a valuable asset to add to a tour such as this. It was agreed that Mike would be the promoter and do all the required travelling to run these events, and my dad would be available for discussions and would oversee things - ie; make sure formats were legit, payouts were carried out as promised, etc... Basically, he was like an advisor and supervisor. As I said, my dad likes the tour idea as well, and as usual, just wanted to see something good done for pool and the players. Of course, somewhere along the line the venture was assumed to be profitable, as any business venture should be.

This is the basic story. I think Mike wants to be certain that people don't confuse his words and actions as a reflection of what my father would do or say. I think that is why he started this thread... I am also glad that he tried to make this known, as I do not want people to think that my father, or myself, believe that this is the way to deal with people.

My father is not Mike's boss, and Mike obviously has a lot of opinions he would like to express, as we all do. I personally do not condone public name calling or the other types of conversational nuances found in Mike's posts, and although I can't speak for my father, I have a feeling he feels the same. And although I may not agree with everything said (by anyone), I do support their right to express it. I personally believe that the way you carry yourself in public (and public forums) states a lot about who you are and your own personal character. And based on those actions, people are free to form their own opinions about you. Good or bad, people will always judge one another.

Other than that, I don't know much. I don't know what this argument on the thread stems from, nor is it my business.

I just wanted to let you know the answer to your question. I don't know why he hasn't answered you directly, and it doesn't matter really, as I'm sure you will agree. I just figured I would help fill you in.

This is a weird thread... 2 guys with a beef with each other, woofin at each other about who beat who. Then they post PM's from each other in a public forum.

I'm sure Allen is more then happy to have the guy disassociate himself from being linked to Allen.

Problem is.. I probably wouldn't even want my name brought up in the first place, linked to him.

The maturity level of some people simply amazes me sometimes.

I tried to keep the problem in private messages. Brian choose to display them. I did not want to air dirty laundy to everyone, however, he continues to do so. As I said. I will let this die off.

So when you (Mike) said you had spoken to Allen SR about gambling and the movies. You reported that he said he thought the Movies (Color of Money and The Hustler) were BAD for pool as was gambling. That of ocurse was correct, no?

Lets see.

Mike comes on to explain that he is not involved with the expo.

Master9baller comes on and immediately starts in with him and blasts him, and has pursued that the entire thread.

Pretty clear as to who is out of line, at least in this thread.

Seems pretty clear that Master9baller thinks this thread is about how he is a better pool player then Mike, and his opinions on mike as a promoter but really, who cares.
Seems to me that you've spent this thread pumping yourself up on how good you play and how you snapped off the cash, compared to mike and your opinions of him.

Is this a pissing contest?

Seriously, no one cares if you can run a rack, no one cares if you are a great gambler.

If you have a personal beef with mike, i would suggest airing it out in person.

Personally, i have been around pool for quite along time, and i can say one thing for sure.
Allen Hopkins is smart businessman.
From the fledgling idea between Allen and Shadow, to the expo taking off to what it is today. Allen isn't going to put his name on something unless he believes in it.
I dare say that the expo generates more money for his efforts then the #1 pool player is gonna make all year, playing at top gear, and believe me, there are lots of people that are pissed off at that.

Having said that, regardless of how anyone thinks of the tour, just the fact that Mike met with Allen, and got the Hopkins seal of approval speaks volumes to me.

Pool people are ridiculously jealous, and if there is one thing that has been a consistent across the board in pool, is that if you come up with an idea, and you go after it, and you have some success at it or get some notoriety because of it, there are always gonna be the people that are pissed off because they had similar ideas, but didn't have the motivation or the balls to take a chance, and are bitter because someone else did, or had more success at it.

Bitter people are funny.
Very entertaining.

Heyyyyy... you know Shadow?

Who is this, do we know each other? I mean, I guess a lot of people know Shadow, but I don't hear him called that very much anymore....

You can send me a PM if you want, just curious, that's all

Allen Jr. I have no doubt your family would be put off by Mikey's displays (no reply required).

Personally don't care about starting any tournaments, just looking for action thanks. (Guess the $500 match won't happen!)

Happy to shed a little light on a consumate jerk like Mikey. Just to watch him squirm. Looks like you may be off the payroll pal. Keep practicing and remember anytime you're ready....anytime.

Bark, bark, bark. Several forum members have politely requested for you to cease this bantor.

If you want to play somebody for $500, come to Washington, D.C. I might be able to round up a pinch shooter and get you action, if you're hot to trot. In fact, I'll get somebody who hasn't hit a ball in 3 years. Let's see how you like it!

And once again Master9baller lets us know that yes, it is true, Mike isn't involved with the expo like Mike claimed.

Next thing, we will see master9baller winning the US open, given his godlike skills at giving weight.

I think master9baller might lay an egg on the spot if HE were to walk in the room and start calling him a chihuahua.
Now THAT would be pretty funny.

But as in most cases, he would probably bail, and lay off the action to someone else, via the "why don't you go play such and such (insert local world champ), i don't see you asking HIM to play" like most railbird do when their "i like action" bluff is called.
