As you may have read from the story on the main page of AZ: http://www.azbilliards.com/news/stories/11131-mike-dechaine-signs-with-ob-cues/

We recently signed a deal with Mike Dechaine to be an OB Sponsored Pro Team player. Mike has been one of the most consistent American male players over the last couple of years and we are proud to have him as a part of our team.

To learn more about Mike and the OB equipment that he uses you can check out his page on the OB website here: http://www.obcues.com/pages/Mike-Dechaine.html

Welcome to the OB family Mike!

What is the selection criteria to be an OB team player? And who are the other OB-sponsored players? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

Congratulations to Mike Dechaine. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

I would guess it doesn't stray too far from...

-Be a pool player.
-Be relatively high profile.
-Have a relatively good image.
-Be affordable.

Anyway, a good addition. Like others I'm slightly surprised he left Predator, too (which only reinforces him being a good addition to OB, I guess).

There is no selection criteria. We look at every player on a case by case basis. How well they play is not the main factor but it does help if they can draw their ball :)

You can see a selection of the OB Players here: http://www.obcues.com/pages/Team-OB.html

Some of the more notable players that use our cues are Alex Pagulayan, Allison Fisher and Corey Deuel.

Thanks for the link. I recognize quite a few names there.

Just curious if the pros leave the stock tip on the ob shafts or if they change them out? And if they do change them out, what are they using?

Great guy and great player congrads to OB and Mike :thumbup:

Great player, yes. Great guy?!?! Really? lol

Better make him some extra cues for when he smashes them on the table during his temper tantrums.

I think most get them changed. I believe Corey uses Elkmaster but it seems many pros are tending towards Kamui (Kamui Black Medium seems to be quite popular)

Congrats to the OB team. You've hooked up with one of the true superstars of American pool. Mike's a power player in every sense of the word who consistently makes deep runs in the most elite American events. Through his fine play, he'll showcase your products and bring positive attention to them.

Congrats also to Mike, but OB is the real winner here.

I think this is a great partnership and wish to congratulate both OB and Mike.

I would love to see a slo-mo video featuring his hard break and you can take it from there, anywhere from chalk dust flying to phenolic balls cracking like eggs, or anywhere in between.

37 mph breaks can sell some equipment. ;)

best,
brian kc
