Mike Dechaine

Mike Dechaine will never be a world champion, he just doesn't make the cut for it. If he goes to the Philippines, unknown players will feast on him like crows while still giving him handicaps in matches, lol.

You sure about that??

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the truth is that no American has shown as much form as Mike Dechaine by the age of 25 since Shane Van Boening. As a fan of American pool, I'm really hoping that Mike's going to be a superstar of American pool for years to come.

Perhaps, as some suggest, Mike still needs to mature further as both a player and a man, but count me among those who think that Mike is a bright young star of American pool with an even brighter future.

PS Mike Dechaine and Jayson Shaw are fine players with fine futures. Might make for a nice TAR match with a hefty side bet between the two participants.

Tell him to go to the Philippines for action and not tournaments and he will see how he compares to those unknown players there.

Him, and everyone else not named Shane Van Boening.

Your point? Mike is doing quite well on the tournament scene here in the US. Since most of us will never be able to see anything that happens in the Philippines, that isn't terribly pertinent.

There you go making sense again.

I have seen him play near perfect pool and that don't come around much for the rest of us.....now does it.

As far as how Mike conducts himself.....At 25 many of us have done the same things, the difference is(at least with me) we did not have a spot light shined on us.

I love that we act like this guy, or that guy is "bad for pool." Tiger must be terrible for golf too, Johny Mac was HORRIBLE for tennis. Controversy breeds interest plain and simple! The two biggest promoters for pool were the movies The Hustler, and The Color of Money, and those REALLY high light the good things about pool...

Mike D. can be a real ass some times. So can any one else. Get off his nuts. At least he's out here trying to make a game. I've never seen one boxer talk some smack to another to try and get him fired up, and into a bad spot for a fight...

This whole discussion of what's "Good" for pool is such horse shit. Like half the people that talk about it even know. I'm sure every one on the internet is a marketing guru. They know for a fact, what's going to put butts in seats at pool events...

end of rant.

best,

Justin

Loved to watch Johnny Mac, and Jimmy Conners play. Both made the game fun to watch.
Add Muhammad Ali Cassius Marcellus Clay to the top of the list, and what he did for the sport!

Nobody whining in this thread about some meaningless Facebook post would step up and play mike ever. And as for the mosconi cup, it is easy to sit at your keyboard bleating about missed shots or dogging, but nobody crying about that has ever played any match anywhere near as critical or as important as any mosconi cup match...and that wasn't even matches for the money.

And give MD credit, he gambles and plays. Something all the butthurt people never do any of.

Diss him all you want (and yes, he is a pretty notorious jerk irl) but don't diss the guy for posting shit on his own fb wall woofing another PLAYER. If you think he's such a jerk why are you following his fb and why do you care what nonsense he posts there?

Telling him to go to the Philippines carries just as much weight as me telling you to step away from your keyboard and get a life. I don't know your story. I don't know what turned you into such a keyboard cowboy who knows the ins and outs of what it takes to be a world champion and hang with the unknowns in the Philippines. Just as you don't know a single thing about Mike and the choices he's had to make; past, present, and future.

I imagine Mike would do just fine going over there. You, however, I imagine would have a difficult time even pulling out of your driveway. Then again, I don't know your story.

You guys can say what you want to but I gotta like the little guy's perseverance. He says things that makes everyone want to slap him at times and still keeps backing it up. Like him or not, he can flat play. Yeah, he may have dribbled down his leg a little in the MC but who here wouldn't have? He stepped up and owned it and is still barking for tough action, dude has sack.

I hope they play at Derby and if they do I will be there and I will be betting on the kid with the big noggin.

GL Mike.

+1

I don't know mike, but he has my respect. He is out there doing it and he has the brass to post on this forum and stand up for his self. You go Mike, do your best, go as far as you can and to hail with the rest! :clapping:

Mike needs to start doing TAR events. Shaw would be an excellent opponent and the betting action, in my opinion, should put it close, although I am disappointed by how little support DAZ has on the Shane match side action.

Lmfao. you are funny! No doubt there are probably monsters in Philippines but I don't think your right.

Part of the 'monster' label is home room advantage.
Many players from the Philippines can win over here, but not dominate.
Playing on tables in humid conditions, mismatched balls, and sometimes
double-layered cloth is worth 2 balls for shock value alone.

The typical Pinoy player is NOT Parica, Reyes, or Bustamante.

And.........give him credit for coming onto this thread and explaining his stance, which he shouldn't have to do nor is obligated to do so. How many other "pros" come on here when their names are negatively talked about on this forum???

I'm a older guy that been playing pool, all my life and I still suck, but I could beat a lot of people on this forum.
Mike Dechaine is one great pool player. The first time I saw him play up here in NH, he was about 18 and some of the things that he did on the table was unbelieveable. What ever happen to pool players, in the old days, in the smoke filled rooms people put up or shut up, not sit on a computer and piss and moan. Mike will win many tournments in his career.
What's wrong with putting out a challenge and being to back it up.

You go Mike, don't waste your time listening to these peoples shit
