Ask Tyler if the Euro fans are respectful to him.disrespect and rudeness displayed by the audience to the Euro players
So what about if some Euro in the crowd blasted a loud horn just as an American was in his final practice stroke before shooting a tough 9 ball? Should that make a Euro proud?I really don't get the carping about loud and sometimes even unruly fans. Every major sports league in the U.S. attracts large and loud crowds. Teams often play in hostile arenas, especially against rivals or during the playoffs.
Boston Celtics fans, for example were deafening during the NBA finals. Deafening. And boy did the fans really lay into the Mavs players. This is in Massachusetts, a bastion of politics opposite of Florida by the way.
I am new to watching pro pool, I acknowledge. It's been just three years now. But I love, love, love the Mosconi. It seems like a real sport with the crowd interaction. And the fans really ratchet up the pressure.
My long experience with other sports has influenced me. I think the cauldron of loud and live sports events separates the wheat from the chaff. Good players find those moments of calm amid the chaos and find ways to elevate their game. And the greatest players take their game to a new level - Jordan, Brady, Gretzky, Big Papi and on and on.
Pool has been played in quiet environments for a long time, but why does it have to be that way? I would guess pool players would adjust, just like the best pros in any sport.
Pool needs fans and crowds and it needs them to get involved if the sport is to grow.
Now, I can see some fans wanting pool to be more like tennis perhaps. Where fans are loud but quiet down for the each point. I get it. I am of mixed mind about the crowd jeering when Kaci went down to win the final hill-hill match.
But in no way did it make me ashamed to be an American. In fact it was the opposite. I loved almost every minute of it.
I really wish we could send him back.Shaw is annoying. That’s all.
Valid point of view. I strongly lean toward the idea of quiet during shooting. A horn meant to interrupt would be out of the question. Constant booing or cheering, I wonder. I’d want to know what the players think. So what about if some Euro in the crowd blasted a loud horn just as an American was in his final practice stroke before shooting a tough 9 ball? Should that make a Euro proud?
Loud crowds are great, but pool isn't a continuous action team sport. It's more like golf, where fans jeering at a player while he's shooting would be given the boot. Tennis has it right, as did the Mosconi Cup up to now.
The presenter's dress is very revealing.
They have to rack the two in one of those three positions. RuleAsk and Ye shall receive.
Last match of the day 2 Sky/Gorst vs Kaci/Alcaide
2 ball location from perspective of racker
Rack #1 US break *right wing
#2 EU break *bottom of rack
#3 US break *left wing
#4 EU break *right wing
#5 US break *right wing
#6 EU break *bottom of rack
#7 US break *left wing
#8 EU break *left wing
#9 US break *right wing
The 2 ball was in the right wing position 4 times, left wing position 3 times, and bottom of rack 2 times.
At minimum the rack isn't so random, the 2 ends up in one of only 3 places so far, I will have to keep an eye on that.
No way he should’ve tried to make the 6 ball there.Gorst is broken.
Never. He had 0% chance to make it and 95% to foul. That was clear. What in the world is he seeing? No way he should’ve tried to make the 6 ball there.
