Mosconi Cup Streaming ?

What I just don't get is why on many of these worldwide tournaments the stream is always moving to different sites and everyone has to scramble the internet to find it and post it up on AZB for the rest of us. Wouldn't it be a simple matter for Matchroom to just have a link to the stream on their own website? It's just so hokie.

My guess is that skysports has the exclusivity for the retransmission.

That's fine, then link to the Skysports stream on the matchroon site. I'm assuming we are not watching some sort of pirated feed on fromsport. But it's on fromsport, then it's not but it's on a different fromsport url, then it's not on either but it's on veetle, then a different veetle url, yada-yada. It's so "Where's Waldo" it's asinine. The Manila tournaments at the end of the summer was the same way.

Wow what a hell of a match. Dennis hatch made two great jump shots! Talk about nerves of steel. Dennis is the man.

Does Hatch have a jump shot or what? At the US Open 10 Ball in May I saw him win a match on an off-handed (righty) jump shot combination on the nine.

SVB made a heck of a safety kick 3 games earlier that set the tone! The crowd loved it too! This was right after a safety that crowd loved too from Appleton!

Races to 6 was short enough, but now 5?! Are they trying to turn this into a coin flip?

A race to 5 or 6 is obviously not a true test of the better player, but the Mosconi Cup is the one competition where I actually don't mind the short races. It makes almost every race close and exciting, and means that every shot or good or bad roll can be the turning point of the match. The Mosconi Cup is really about emotion, and the short-race format makes almost every match and every shot charged with emotion.

Agreed. That sucks big-time. But maybe it's tough to shoe-horn the entire broadcast into one large slot ? But it still sucks to have to jump around.

My best guess is that it is indeed a pirated stream of some sort, it just isn't a big enough deal for Skysports to get upset about it. The reason stuff is so spotty is because (to the best of my knowledge) we are at the mercy of someone who has access to the feed being willing to take the time to set up the stream. If they no longer feel like streaming it you get what we had yesterday....late starts, switches to soccer games, and ealry shutoffs, etc.

The interesting thing is that the veetle feed seemed to be the actual televised one with on screen graphics and commercials and stuff while the fromsport seems to be just the dry feed from the event. I'm curious as to who gets access to this dry feed. I would think it would have to be someone working at the event putting that feed up.

Good point but once they publish a format they should stick to it not change it as they go to suit their needs. Be prepared for extra playing time !

I agree. I didn't know they had changed the format during the competition.
