Mosconi Cup

Sorry I don't sit around like you davis and pretend to be some pool pro and post on boards all the time. if you don't like my opinion then don't reply to me FkTard. Maybe Ill go make a user name like earl s or rodney m..maybe Johnny A. You bunch of tool bags will think I am them...LMFAO get a life guys thats not hatch. Get a grip.

Oh, the irony.

yeah right your Dennis!!! LMFAO Buddy your high on something if you think I beleive that. And if you are hey THANKS for the CHOKE getting on the 8 ball day 3. You lost the cup for us. GOOD JOB!!

Dude,

Go away.. Team USA has nothing to be ashamed of.. Dennis Hatch does post here and that is he ID.. Dennis, you were the only USA player with a winning record but that does not matter, I'm still proud of team USA..

Europe played great, gotta give them credit where credit is due.. Appleton and Boyes played lights out in my opinion..

Take the cup back next year!!

I watched every match from beginning to end. It was one of the best Mosconi Cups ever. Great play by both teams, and almost all were exciting matches. No one played bad as far as I could see. Every player had their good moments as well as their bad ones. But far more good than bad is what I witnessed. There was some amazing play by both sides. Fantastic shotmaking, remarkable cue ball positioning and superlative safeties. Ten GREAT players locked horns this week in London and someone had to win. If the same two teams play again next year, it could easily go the other way.

Team Europe was inspired from the first ball being struck, partly by the very supportive home crowd, and partly from a desire to avenge their disheartening loss last year, when they were favored. But Team USA refused to fold, fighting back to win some hard fought matches, when they absolutely had to. Like I said, one GREAT Cup!

It's a tribute to the American pros that they handled the pressure of York Hall so well. Lesser players couldn't have done that. The last four days only made me admire Shane, Johnny, Rodney, Dennis and Corey that much more. ALL World Class players!

I agree that congratulations are in order for Team Europe. They beat a strong US squad of seasoned vets. Mika played great all the way, Ralf played like Ralf (especially at the end), Karl was the best "rookie" this side of Dennis Hatch, Nick showed why he is considered a great clutch player and Darren was UNBELIEVABLE! Darren came up with big shot after big shot, and always under pressure. Sure he got a couple of rolls, but there is a reason why you get rolls. It usually happens when you go for a very difficult shot....and succeed!

I love The Open and DCC is a lot of fun, but for sheer excitement nothing matches the Mosconi!

When we play good we're hero's and when we play bad we're bums.

Dennis just being there and playing your heart out is by far the greatest thing a man can do for his country!! Team Europe played really well and got a lot of rolls. They also made less mistakes and got more chance then you guys did.

Oh well right?? You win some you lose some.. In my eyes you guys played some of the best pool ive seen in a very long time and im very proud of you guys. The pressure was so intense i was on the edge of my seat!! You could see it in everybodies faces!! It was very obvious. I can see how much gut and nerve it took to play there!!! Great job and there's always next year!!

That being said good luck to you at the Turning Stone this coming Thursday. Ill be there so you're gonna need it :p

Mosconi Cup is a Joke anyway

Come on folks a race to 5 or 6? This is a joke. You all put way to much on this fast match play. At this level a race to 5 or 6 means nothing. Who gives a crap that team euro won...not me. Does not mean a thing! And whats with these guys from team euro half of them live in the states. I know Mika lives in NYC and has now for a long time. If europe is so great why does he live here?? You should have to live in the country you are claiming to represent adleast. I started to watch but could not take it when crappleton was getting lucky kicks. What like 5 in one match that were finding pockets. Then Hatch misses a shot any club player could have set up and crappleton wins and acts like he just ran the rack to put Hatch away...WTF! Total crap. And they make this guy MVP thats was the best part. The new kid Carl whatever was the MVP not crappleton. Anyway time to retool team america dump Hatch pronto!, Morris should not have even been there. Duel and Vanblownit need to practice and Archer needs to be the non playing team captain he has lost the goods. If these guys are the best we have to offer team america is in BIG trouble in years to come. I said it last year this Hatch guy was just a flash in the pan. He needs to stick to his bar table tourneys.

Congrats to all the competitors. The whole event was fantastic. It was Europe's year this time. Can't wait until next year. I didn't see the last few matches but I'll catch them when I can. Maybe I'll make it to Vegas next year!

About the only intelligent thing in your entire post was that the short race is a joke! All the name calling and knocking just shows how out of it you are! I guess the last part of your screen name is accurate, from the way you sounded in your post!

Hello Debbie Downer. Or should we say shooterny?

Ummm, I like the idea of 10-ball. Can't wait for next year, it will be the second Mosconi Cup I will be there to watch.

The fans were yelling the whole fvcking time, you know.
The race to 5 or 6 has a reason and its that way since they play.
These are the reasons why its that great to look, it would be boring on longer races.

Like said, the "Mosconi Cup" is a match between continents and is made to show pool to the world.
The whole thing is live on TV from start to end, and all the matches have that much pressure and intensity.
Hopefuly it will be able on more different TV stations again in the future, because its pure pool advertisment.

And yes, I had goosebumps only from looking and hearing the crowd - that is what POOL needs.

Eric"h" -------thinks the cup is the most exiting pool event out there

The way team USA was treated while they were at the table was total BS! Last year in Vegas the US fans were very respectful of the European players while they were shooting. The refs had to keep warning and resetting the clock for team USA because the fans in York Hall were acting like fools and trying to shark and distract team USA. Then Darren "kick shot fluker king" Appleton. Thanks the crowd when it was over! WOW really. Team Europe should be ashamed of their fans. The fans made a diffrence in some of team USA loses. IMO Earl should be brought back next year and Dennis and Rodney should be hitting the road. Dennis choke shot against Appleton on day 3 was huge and changed the momentum in europes favor. The fans also played a hand in that miss twice Tabb had to reset the clock. Again I can't get over the classless fans of Europe. I didn't know what people meant by Euro Trash before. Now I do! Next year in Vegas I hope our fans return the favor to team Europe. I know i'll be there with 20 of my good friends and their will be some pay back coming!

You're an idiot!

There should honestly be an AZ billiards A-hole hall of fame!!
You would be #1 with softshot at a very close second.

Shooterny is now showing as Banned--good riddance! That kind of bile and negativity adds nothing and just makes it harder to have an interesting exchange of views.

Welcome to being a professional sports figure.

When you get to your level in any sport this is simply the way it is. Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Sydney Crosby, all professional sports figures deal with that on a regular basis.

Its a lot easier to take when the $$$ is like other professional sport figures.
You try just as hard...because of Heart!

Change Tables

I watched every match from start to finish and I totally agree with Jay's comments, especially the fact the Euro's figured out the break before the Yanks. Without that edge, it would have been a different outcome I'm sure.
Knocking either team's performance in clutch situations though in my opinion is wrong. Having said that, I would love to watch it all again, only this time on Diamond Pro Am tables. Daz banked a long up and back that hit the cushion first more than a full diamond above the pocket and it still potted. Mika sent one into the side pocket at 100 mph at an angle as thin as a razor blade. Those flukes don't happen on Diamond Pro Ams. Lets see how the Euro's do at the DCC?

There were some solemn faces on Team USA during the presentations and that is to be expected. One thing I noticed is that Dennis kept on smiling and during his interview. I think there is a lot to said about that.

I agree with the hall of fame idea, but hold on there. You are forgetting many eligible candidates on the other forums including NPR.

You would need to post a poll, but the monitors may frown on that.
