Is there any people here who love to listen to music while shooting pool. I carry my mp3 player with me and listen through my earphones whilke playing. Now in leagues I don't because just incase someone tells me to play a safe or gives me some advice when playing. Shootin by myself and in tourneys I'll play my mp3 player. Something fast and grim always suits my fancy.

I use to play with my mp3 plugged in,and I love to play that way.But during a league I started getting complaints about using them so I just gave in and left them at home.I like to hear the jukebox playing as loud as possible with some upbeat music.I think music has a lot to do with mood, good music good mood, karaoke on the other hand is torture to me .Good Luck and keep jammin

I personally don't like loud music when I'm playing but I've learned to deal with it. There's a time for everything and when it's time for tunes I throw on the slipknot. That usually clears out all the weak one's. :D

I was so used to loud music of all kinds playing 75% or more in bars that when I played in one of the old type pool rooms (funeral parlors) the silence sharked the hell out of me. At home on my patio table I put on wireless headphones and turn on the stereo inside the house. I can't here wife call me either. Johnnyt

nice choice

:)

IF that does not work, there are always ear plugs.:)

I play better with Metallica or Velvet Revolver playing.

I use Pandora app on iPhone and plug into iPod dock on Yamaha receiver in my basement. Sound quality is excellent - Pandora (pandora.com) is free (occasional ads). You build your own stations (based on song or artist) and it plays "similar" music. Try the Gov't Mule station! Great for pool night.

I like the jukebox at the bar as long as it stays away from country... If I get to pick, its gonna be AC/DC all the way.

Tonmo - Pandora is really awsome, way better than any radiostation I have ever heard. Everyone should check it out!!

When I go practice I take along my old 'Walkman' and throw in a Slim Whitman's greatest hits cd. On really special occasions I like to listen to a little Starland Vocal Band.

Who is giving you advice during league play? Isn't it against the rules for teammates to offer playing advice during a rack?

when i'm playing in a tournament, i like if its quiet. but on league nights, some classic rock from the jukebox is a must!

The pool hall has a juke box you can use personal playlists on. See http://MyTouchTunes.com. I got compliments last night on my Metalica and RHCP selections.

I've been known to torture people with The Three Degrees, The Pet Shop Boys Sing Willie Nelson's Greatest Hits, and Bob Dylan's Christmas carols, but only when I'm in a bad mood or losing.

You hit a soft spot. This is the reason that after 50 years of loving and playing pool I don't even go to our local rooms.

The term music is subjective. The $hit half the idiots listen to cannot be classified as music IMO.

But beside that, anyone who blares any kind of music to a level where it is reasonably uncomfortable for others in a public environment is rude and obnoxious and without consideration for others.

That's a nice way to say they are pieces of SH***.

The music in a true pool hall is the sound of balls rolling on the slate.

I'm okay with tunes, preferably not too loud.

Opponents wearing MP3 players annoys me slightly, almost feels disrespectful in a way. Probably me just being quirky. However, if the tournament or league has no restrictions about it, then to each his own.

I have just started wearing headphones, and I love it.

Its my personal OFF BUTTON for all the people that insist on coming up and talking to me while im shooting.

What did they say when they complained? you looked like you were digging the music too much?

Well, you can walk away from the table and talk to your teammates or call a coach only twice during 4 matches.
