This is the last you'll hear from me about my game on the bar box…I promise.
A year ago today I bought a 7' Valley table and started playing again after 5 years, two strokes, and 2 heart attacks. My goal at first was to get back to or close to "B" again. The first week or so I averaged about 3 or 4 balls a rack playing 9-ball against the ghost with BIH. I couldn't run close to a full rack in 14.1. Playing the ghost 10-ball…forget about it, I never came close to winning a game. My pocketing and position skills were that of a "-D" player.
Anyway to make a long story short, I'm finished with the Valley BB. I'm buying an oversize 8'. A 9' really doesn't fit right where I have to put it w/o moving posts and extending the patio.
After a year on the BB I've come a long way. I ran 96 balls in 14.1, but never close to that again (about 51 was my highest after that). I slaughter the 9-ball ghost with BIH. I can beat the 9-ball ghost in a race to 5 W/O BIH about 50% of the time. I can beat the 10-ball ghost more that 50% of the time with BIH. So now my goal is to do as well on the bigger table.
I want to thank the people I bought books and dvd's from, they helped a lot. I want to thank Dr Dave, Jeanette Lee, Joe Tucker, Ray Martin, plus TAR and all the other streamers that allowed me to watch the pros and learn. But most of all I want to thank all my friends on AZ that answered all my silly questions over the past year. I could never have done it w/o you. Thank you all. Johnnyt
