i just picked this beast up. its a 1983 richard black. cue is in like brand new condition. the guy i got it from takes really really really great care of his equipment. i love the way this cue hits. this cue is perfect for me because i hate fancy cues. im a 4 point or no point irish linen guy. ivory joint and 3 shafts with ivory ferulles. this cue is all original. i just love this cue. i hope you enjoy my crappy pics. i dont have a good camera but ive got a great cue.

Very nice bet it hits great! I'd bet thats the only veneer combination Richard has ever done also. :thumbup:
 
thanks for all the great comments. this cue is a hell of a player. i want to put it up since he is no longer making cues, but like tom cruise said " i lay it down and the go@#amn thing just jumps at me". this is my player and i couldnt be happier. thanks to chris.
 
I usually favor cues with inlays, but I have to concur that this cue looks stunning without the "extras"...the veneer colors are phenomenal!

Even more important is that you like the "hit" of the cue!!! Awesome!

Not true! Richard is actively making cues!
 
i played for years with a cue with VERY similar veneer colors, yeah thats a life time player class cue.

jim thanks for the words of wisdom. i hope i never sell it either. i really enjoy the way this cue plays. very very stiff hit. if this is how stiff his ivory joint cues play then i can only imagine how stiff the steel ones are.
