My New Table - Thanks Ernesto and Jay

And, Chris, If you need someone to help you break in that new Simonis, remember that I only live about 10 minutes from you....:D

Russ.....

Hey Chris, glad the table came out well. Pops was saying that you didn't even let him pick up the tools before you already started hitting balls on the table. LOL.

He likes that people enjoy his work. Glad your happy and are enjoying the table. I would have liked to help out, but had to make it to a funeral for a classmate of mine. Thanks for your kind words and see you around the area. Oscar

Very nice indeed! There's only one thing I don't get. There's a pool table in that room, ready to play on. What are people doing looking at the wallpaper???

Umm, I do like the wood floor too. I guess I'm more of a floor than wall kinda guy!

Frankly, I'm a little dissapointed. I pictured Chris to have a wall rack full of old Palmer cues. Or Titleists like a 20's pool hall. Beautiful table though. :D

Very cool Chris. It looks better in your house than it did in mine. All the wood paneling complements it well. Congrats and enjoy! Let me know when you want a One Pocket lesson. I do know how that table banks. :)

Just FYI, the Gibson table is actually heavier than a Gold Crown. Must be all that solid Mahogany.

By the way, I played the monthly One Pocket at Hard Times yesterday, for the first time in two years. 32 players. Won my first two matches 2-0, 2-0. Got in the final eight and the money. Next up for me was some little guy who looked pretty soft. I made three balls in two games. I guess this little guy named Parica can still play. :)

Hey Chris, tell them about the house cues you found in my wall rack.
One other thing, that "wood" rack I gave you was something special. It was a "Gorilla" rack, only the best wood rack ever made!

One other thing Chris. I wouldn't be bragging about that USC helmet right now. I mean STANFORD! C'MON!

I didn't even know USC lost until my Cal fan in-laws called to needle us. It was a topsy turvey football weekend - wow!

Jay's house is a billiard enthusiasts museum. Need an original Tip Tapper? Jay's got brand new ones. Stacks of balls, games, posters (thanks for the Mosconi Cup poster too), DVD's, cues, you name it.

The table does bank well - for you at least. I really do like the table and the set of Centennial balls. It's nice to have a new set of balls - I guess you don't realize the old ones are too old until you play with a new set.

Sincerely, thanks again Jay - we have to get together again soon!

Chris

very nice!

Congrats Chris, I played on that table and I know it is the bomb! I'm just wondering how to get one pocket/bank lessons from Jay! It goes without saying that Ernesto puts his best into his work. Hope you enjoy that table for years to come. See ya later, Kent

Cmon up and I'll beat on you with my new Kent Davis cue. :) :)

Look Closely

In the lower left corner of the picture one can see an electrical cord. Tate cropped it out but it leads to a humidifier! Not only does this table have pockets shimmed by Ernesto to the Jay/Tate specs, but now Tate is soaking it! I'm just saying, think twice before stepping up to this beautiful torture device.

Now can we get back to interior decorating with this thread? I, for one, think the wallpaper is divine! Anybody with curtain treatment ideas?

Kevin,

Make no mistake about it, these are Ernesto specs on those pockets. 4" and brutal. I asked him for 4.25" pockets but he did this anyway. When I inquired why he made them so tight, he responded "It's good for you."

If you aren't a straight shooter, you won't be happy on this box. :)
I finally got to where I could make three balls in a row, so I'm happy now. And ready to fade those Diamonds in Derby City.

It's Good For You

I was a competitive swimmer as a child and right up to college. We used to work out once a week, swimming wearing tee shirts, it sure felt fast and easy when we took them off. I think Ernesto has the right idea and I'm sure I couldn't make a ball.

Good try Jay, but I still think I would need 4 games going to 9 :), did you mean 3 "racks" :)

Take a good look at this table. There's hardly any pocket on that 9', it's all rail. Give Chris a few months on that box and he'll be playing in next year's U.S. Open. :)

I overlooked my wallpaper in the "Gayest Things in Pool" thread!". I'm re-doing the room next month anyway.

The extension cord is actually to a cat waterfall. Our Bengals like running water. Good thing they're not spoiled, huh?

You're right. The pockets are so small that at first glance I thought it was a 3 cushion billiard table.

Great Cats

Wow. Those are beauties, those Bengal litter mates. I have one of those waterfalls too (with filter right?), which also serves to help prevent multiple pets passing illness back and forth. Bengals are great cats, and that's a fabulous pair. Good for you, surrounding yourself with classic beauty (except, of course, he wallpaper).
