NEED HELP! Should I get Viking or Lucasi?

IMHO. you can do alot better than Lucasi or Viking for $300. Before you do anything you should identify what type of hit your looking for. After you know what kind of feel you want, go to the for sale section very often and be patient. You'll be glad you did.
Thanks I've have been looking... But I've read a lot of posts where people get ripped off on here. (I'm sure not all are bad people) I don't really want a used cue, but if the price is right. I can't get on Ebay at work, Please send me some pics.

I don't exactly know what your preference are, but for that price, I think Rick made some sneakiestpete that came with LD shafts if you were interested in a cue that came with an LD shaft. It also comes with Kamui or Moori tips.

Here are the ones with standard shafts:

Hope this helps. I also think that with the price you pay, with an LD shaft, you can't really beat that. Good luck finding a good one!

Happy shooting! :)

To each his or her own, I say when comparing cues. If I had $300 (which I did) I'd buy a Viking, (which I did. Viking G 27. You can build your own cue on their site. Most all changes from stock cues are free. Johnnyt

Surely there are pawn shops in the Boston area...I recently picked up a $300 retail McDermott with a Porper case for $100 at a pawn shop here. I then had the shaft cleaned and retipped.

New? Another vote for the Viking over the Lucasi...I recently bought one as a gift for a cousin. Played with it before sending it to her, and for the price, I think Viking makes a great playing cue. I'm also not as down on the Lepro tip as some here seem to be.

I love Vkiking cues. Ive had a Viking in my case for 10 years, and it still shoots straight and feels great. When I first got into pool as a teenager, Viking cues were plentiful and affordable. I have only used one Lucasi, and it was a jump/break, so I have no input on those. If it wasnt for me buying a Schon, Id probably still be playing with my old trusty Viking. You cant go wrong with Viking.

hell i didnt pay $300 for my Schon WITH the case~! and its a 93 model, nice, clean 4 pointer...

i would go used, $250-350 can get you a HELL of a sneaky from a custom builder used, a real nice Schon, or a number of other cues

for new i would go with a LPCustom.. a lil more money gets you a BEAUTIFUL cue, a few inlays, 2 shafts, etc... or $275 gets you a basic cue with 1 shaft..

there are also a GOOD number of very skilled cue makers taht make sneakies etc in your range...

for me though, i agree with the above gentlemen, $300 can get you a LOT more than a lucasi or viking... i am pretty sure my Schon is my player for life, even though i desire other cues.. but im DAMN glad i bought taht instead of less cue just because they were new..

the market SUCKS... and used cues go for 30-60% of the original sale price (not retail), unless you are talking rare stuff..

look around a while, that money can get you a real nice cue
