New AZers I met in Vegas (and some photos)

akaTrigger

Hi!
Silver Member
I met new AZErs again in Vegas this year! I carried a small little notebook in my purse to write down the names again, just like last year. The only difference was I didn't make each of them take a pic with me like I did last year, lmao!

The envelope please:

I met:

Magix (i kept asking him to spell his name - Magix or Majic? Majic and I have magic so I wanted to make sure if I was suppose to hug him or not, lol)
Eric. - he and his wife are awesome peoples!
nathandumoulin - EXTREMELY talented! Wow. Runoutmedia is the nutz!
cleary - don't let him be in charge of cutting you off - he didn't help me the night he was in charge of cutting off the drinks for me!!
SJM - FINALLY we meet!
cuebuilder - thanks for the patches! Everyone is jealous - you rock!
mlalum - thanks for stopping me to say hi! nice to put a name to all those emails.
1on1pooltournys - thanks for coming up to me and saying hi!
DRW - we finally meet!
meximan2469, ap_audio Mr. J, and Gum9ball say they didn't post much but it was still cool of them to say hi to me.
Pooladdict - thanks also for introducing yourself, Chris!
lfigueroa - yay! we finally meet!
Steve Lipsky - he doesn't remember me when he beat me in master scotch some 5 years ago, but I finally was able to thank him this year for all his insightful posts on AZB.
AlisonF9ball - Altho we had played against each other a few years ago in this tourney, we officially met and also hung out this time!
GG11 - hard to beleive we hadn't met before this trip. Enjoyed all our talks!

I *could* have met Blah Blah and cyrex and TimKrazyMon but they didn't come up to me - they said I looked too busy (wtfever, lmao) :(

imageker said he saw me via pm, but we never got to meet up either. I went to the first AZB get together and no one was there, though. The second one I napped right through it (must have been the day after cleary was in charge :D )

For all the AZers that came up to me, thank you thank you! It was an honor to meet you all! I really loved it when someone said ,"Hey Trigger" and we got to meet.

If I missed anyone, I apologize, but I thought I was pretty good at writing the names down if I knew you were on AZB (kinda had to, who would remember everyone over ten days!)

Here are few pics from the trip:

Looks like everybody was having a great time in the pictures. Can't go wrong with good people sharing the same passion in Vegas none the less. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Trig, great meeting and having a couple of drinks with ya! You are just as adorable in person as on the forum. I'm glad we met.

That's where you were all this time? You told me you were going out to White Castle. I thought it took you a little too long. Hey, have you seen my leopard thong, sweetie? I was gonna do the Tarzan thingy you love so much when you get off work.

Next year maybe I will be cooler so we can hang out more. I'll try to become friends with Tyler Edey between now and then.

p.s. Amanda Lampert gives a great hug.

Great meeting you too, Melinda... Please don't think any less of me that we played in the past, I have the worst memory ever! ;)

It was cool playing next to you in the scotch - you and Sylver are a strong team...

Sounds like I missed a few drunken nights, hope to catch up with everyone next year!

- Steve

Sorry, Im bad at cutting people off, especially myself.

Well, either way, it was nice to meet ya. It was also nice to hear Chris Melling say that YOU have a weird accent. As if he doesn't have the craziest British accent ever. HAHA

Truth be known, I may be the single most boring person in Vegas. After a long day working at the tournament, I went upstairs to my room and crashed. I didn't show my face until breakfast the next morning. I never bet a dime and never had a drink. BORING could be my middle name. So much for my party image, as if I ever had one. I did find time to wink at a few girls as I trudged the long hallways day after day. That's about as exciting as it got for me. :thud:

You are very sweet!

Yea, sorry about that :( - next year I will make it a point to hang out with you at a cool spot!

Drunken nights? Yes, many. :) And yes to next year!

Exactly! Born in Japan and raised in Texas - I have NO accent! Chris is awesome, though. Next year neither one of us can be in charge of cutting people off, lol. Why would we want to do that anyway?? Oh wait - pool tournament. ;)

Well Trigger, maybe next time. However, if you remember seeing a guy who looks like Danny Basavich's twin hillbilly brother, that was me.

I knew it .... too old to keep up with a young filly like Trigger. It was bound to happen.

ABZer's

Melinda, it was nice talking to you for a moment during a break from my team match. Still recovering from eleven days of beer, bloody mary's and and and! Had maybe the best and fastest slot waitress in 17 years. Friend and I driving back to Tucson were planning next years trip. Great fun! Hope to see ya in the future.:)

Vegas

Well.. it was nice walking by you and thinking 'Hey.. that's Melinda from AZ.... I should say hi'

Next time I promise I'll actually say it out loud! :D

For my own part, I couldn't even get to you- we were both occupied and far away from each other.

NEXT time, though, watch out: I will scream "!!!TRIGGERRRRRR!!!" at the top of my voice and leap across all barriers and wrestle you into a huge bear hug.

...Or maybe my natural reserve will hold me back and I'll just calmly introduce myself : )
