Now I'm glad I waited. The reported mess was the one thing holding me back.

You would at least think for the price kamui could come up with a better looking wrap on the chalk.

Are they kinda half admitting there were problems with the original chalk? At that price, a user should not have to put up with any problems. Are they still making the original?

Was this chalk the same price as the original? Thanks.

From my understanding the prices had gone up based on Seyberts pricing at @$28
Well this i dont know ifhe price will change or not, both was given to me by a good friend to test.
Well the old one is still out there, they are releasing this i think next year

I bet the chalk only costs about 10-20¢ to manufacture.

Maybe if you don't include sunk cost in production facilities and research and possibly labor, but considering they haven't been around for decades like master, I am sure the price per unit is quite a bit higher.

I tried a sample recently and I did notice less chalk coming off onto the cue ball, but still was noticeable. Great chalk, still not worth the price though.

Oh you're probably right. 25¢ a piece sounds better.

The chalks big selling point is it is supose to stop miscues. Miscues don't really happen if you chalk right after every shot good chalk (Masters or BD to name 2). Miscues happen if you hit the CB too far out from the center of the CB and other reasons that DON'T happen with a good stroke. When chalk is left on the CB through no fault of the shooter you get skids that are not your fault. The only way to stop it is to clean the CB. So pay $25-$30 for a chalk that stops what you can stop yourself and adds skidding that you can't do anything about yourself. I'll pass on this chalk thank you. Johnnyt

Yeah really, if you miscue you either missed your mark or your tip needs work.

I will be interested to see the difference...

I have found that once people try the Kamui chalk, I usually sell a cube the next time I see that person

The best think Kamui could do would be to drop the price,
I think the product stands up on it's own merit and would be more accepted if the price was lower, maybe in the 10.00 range

Premium Pricing

People can read a little about pricing if they feel like it. I totally understand the "if it is worth it, then go for it" attitude.... but read about premium pricing of you get a chance. Prices are always easy to drop for a company, never easy to raise -- hence the $28??. Here's a start.....

"Premium pricing is the practice of keeping the price of a product or service artificially high in order to encourage favorable perceptions among buyers, based solely on the price.[1] The practice is intended to exploit the (not necessarily justifiable) tendency for buyers to assume that expensive items enjoy an exceptional reputation or represent exceptional quality and distinction."
