New MC cup captain team USA

Yes but ........let's all relish that one beautiful thought for just a moment or two...
The yin and yang of it all.

Many players trying to get into the "top ten" per say....

And then once they make it....

5 have a target on their back.

I must admit that I'm a little aroused in a James Bond sort of way.

Did I mention no bar boxes and no U.S. Open for points?

mufasa
*shudder*

so finnigan will be picking? :grin-square:

The perfect five for the next US Mosconi team, in no particular order, is:

1. Justin Bergman
2. Billy Thorpe
3. Josh Roberts
4. Whoever
5. Whatever

despite all previous poor performances, Shane is way overdue for a BIG showing at MC. I don't think America's #1 should be excluded.

I'm liking Josh but not sure if he's a top 5 yet.

I might have picked Josh last year, but at this Derby he has show what a fine all around talent he is, like Bergman, Woodward, and Thorpe. These four well-rounded, improving, players don't have the weaknesses that have plagued team USA and it's time to be grooming them for the future by getting them all in the Mosconi ASAP. OK for SVB to be on the team, but not asked to lead more than by example.

I agree, not quite yet. Reason being, I beat em in ND last year 7-2 because he made two really bad board play decisions that surprised me. I heard tho, high stakes gambling was his forte'.

I could be wrong, but I think Shane prefers one-on-one match-ups and fares better in those kinds of competitions. The team match-ups, I don't think Shane likes that format. The only time I can remember in recent times that Shane played well at the Cup was when he was partnered with Earl. It seemed like he was having a blast and enjoyed it.

That said, maybe Shane would have been a better pick to be co-captain with Johann.
