New Panjo Marketplace

Time saver....

While I hate the new format it has actually saved me lots of time each day. I used to cruise the forum several times a day looking for something new or maybe something missed.....now once a day is plenty.

Thanks......TommyT

Panjo, Banjo aside ..... i can't seem to wrap my head around the timing of this whole venture ....
why overhaul the marketplace system during this time of the year, when the most selling and buying take place? That's like the NFL introducing rule changes during the playoffs.
Go figure....

How do you now post a "Want to Trade" thread? Will there be a section just dedicated to trades? Or should those go in the "Wanted" section?

Btw, thanks for getting my FS thread loaded, Mike. Any idea why it didn't happen automatically?

there are already sub-forums for: "For Sale Items", "eBay Auctions", and "Wanted"

personally, i would like to see a sub-forum for "Trades"

Tdb?

OK, im going to sound like a real idiot her but here goes.
After the price it says shipping+TDB. What does that mean? I even looked sat the other listings and they say the same.
I would understand if it said TBD. (to be determined)
What does TDB mean?
Thanks

I just tried to Panjo again and return to AZbilliards and it still kicks me off
the site.

I just tried to use Panjo to list something, but I cannot.

Panjo still $ucks.

It doesn't appear that they give a damn about taking care of you Mike.

I WOULD FIRE THEM IF I EMPLOYED THEM for gross incompetence.

Asiadad, this is something we have been trying to figure out and I believe we have the answer to that issue. Should be fixed this evening.

As for the threads not being created, my understanding is that it happened twice. Once was due to the title of thread being wrapped in <<<>>>. That threw Panjo for a loop. They are not sure what happened with the other one.

Panjo is working hard to clear up any issues that users are having.

ONCE AGAIN, I am NOT asking for votes on whether you like Panjo or not. I am interested in actual intelligent feedback as to why it is working or not working. This is not an election. It is something we are TRYING, to see how it works.

Mike, with all due respect Dave_M has given serious attention to this, and has
given serious answers to the problems.

Panjo has basically alienated your core audience.

In my industry (automotive) I have seen entire dealership operating systems
be corrected from tragedy in 72 hours or less, and we're all still on here
wondering why the site is still broken.

I appreciate that. Were this something that I had coded, then it would be easy to get in there and figure out why it wasn't doing what I wanted it to do.

I might be being a little slow on the trigger with Panjo, simply because I want to get past the initial "no like change" period. I also don't want to pull the plug on something because a handful of users say they don't like it.

Please squeeze it harder.

No, the 48 hour rule was NOT working fine. Person A posted an item, then his buddy replied "Great looking cue" then the OP replied "thanks", then his buddy said "your welcome", then another buddy posted "Must hit a ton", then the OP said "It does!", then another buddy replied "Good luck with the sale", then the OP thanked them.

Meanwhile, that thread was at the top of the section for days solid and the others users who were trying to follow the rules were sending us multiple complaints about the BS going on in the for sale area.

Just because you are not receiving the complaints, does not mean it wasn't broken.

And we are talking about Panjo, not the different sections.

The 48 hour rule was working fine..This new format is a waste of time and energy by az.

Because a couple people complain you screw the whole forum up.

It was good the old way. All these differnt sections suck. Change it back or you are guaranteed to lose 25% of your traffic and that means less advertisers .

It's already happening.

Bad move !!!

Uhh, Bama. You are comparing the traffic we had one day in 2008 to the traffic we had today and blaming that on Panjo? You much of a conspiracy theorist?

Mike

The "good old days":

Most users ever online was 2,705, 07-16-2008 at 01:38 PM.

The "Modern days", after all the fixes:

Currently Active Users: 492 (158 members and 334 guests)

That is for ALL forums. The "For Sale" forums:

Current Users: 82 (22 members & 60 guests)

Got everything fixed, now.

Thank you for an actual well thought out response that didn't include "THE FORUMS ARE ON FIRE!!!!!".

Restores my faith that people can actually provide decent feedback.

MIke

It looks to me like panjo is not a hit with the forum users at all. Please consider changing back to the old system. If any changes need to be made I would think there are a couple changes that could be made that would make things run smoother for users. Have three separate sections for production cues, custom cues and cases & accessories. Threads will not move as much and people will not have to look through unwanted posts. I dont think many people in the market for a $3000 cue are interested in a fire sale on a $200 mcdermott.

Actually there is a big difference between doing a search for "ebay" in the for sale area and trying to determine how much each thread is selling for.

Mike

In my opinion, they have to separate for sale section. It seems like they had no problems separating ebay listing and wanted posts. So, it should be no problems to create:
1. Custom cues under 1K
2. Custom cues 1-3K
3. Custom cues 3K & UP
4. Production cues.
4. Cases, tips, accessories etc.
And THEN, ban and delete posts that are in a wrong place.

I am replying to these posts now. I wanted to give it a couple days to get past the "Change bad. Old way good" messages that I was seeing.

I am interested in discussing how to make the for sale area run as smoothly as possible for as many users as possible. There is no way that everyone is going to be happy about anything though.

Mike

HAHA! Perhaps AZ does not think it is important. Or they have other reasons to do things the way they do them.
BUT, FOR GOD'S SAKE, SPEAK! Tell us SOMETHING!
I bet if you ask Wilson that question, you will be banned :D
And if you ask him why did he ban you, he will ban you for even longer.
That is just a way things are - my way or the highway. SAD....

Where is the "like" button. This is exactly what I was hoping to see. I should call you in to moderate things when I have to scold my kids.

Mike

People need to relax. AZb is trying a few things, and tweaking a few things. Trials and tribulations sometimes require failures to see what is optimal. Some things work and some dont.

This thread should be documenting pros and cons, using CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

I think we all believe that something should be done, but until you try a few things, how do you know?

With change comes pain, until middle ground is found.

But screaming like a 4yr old discounts your ideas and issues.

AZb is trying to make this work and make everyone happy and I think we should all be patient until a few things are tried.

Trade items should be posted in the Wanted area. Sorry I didn't make that more apparent.

Mike

Btw, thanks for getting my FS thread loaded, Mike. Any idea why it didn't happen automatically?

The Rolex Forums classified section allows only the seller to post on the thread and that prevents other people from bumping the item. If someone has info on a cue it could be PM'd to the seller and then added to the listing by the seller. It could easily work that way here since the engine is the same...Vbulletin.

I still feel that this is the fix we need.
