New poolhall opening in Griffith Indiana

I was in grffith about 15 years ago...

I've grown up in Griffith. We've probably crossed paths.
I met the owner today and he tells me they are shooting to open up in a month. I asked him about the tables and he said he'll have Valley bar boxes and gold crowns. Oh also Jeremy Chambers is setting them up.:)

I almost married a gal named Laura from there. She worked at a bar called Norms.

There was allot of action there. I played a big long set there with a guy named Norman Wines.

Norm the owner was missing a thumb. Maybe you or someone else might remember him.

If I remember right Norms was behind the Corner Cafe, actually the same building. The bar is still there but it's called The Final Round and owned by Mike Cottingham.

I walked inside the room about 10 minutes ago and talked to the kid doing the work. He said one more week ( with a grin ) because they're waiting for the beer tap lines to be installed and also 15 more tables to be delivered.
I'll bet it's more like 2 to 3 weeks if they get what they need all in tomorrow.

About time

I shot at final round, Huen tap with bobby o, joe Zapata, etc. George's last name is Hillier. Jamie and I taught him how to play when we used to shoot at wild goat in highland back in the day;) bout time there's anther pool hall besides jukebox which is a joke.

anyone heard if they're opening this weekend? thought about driving by there tomorrow to see what's up. can't wait to check it out!

not sure about tables but I read the city council notes from the meetings they had leading up to the approval and it said a 6300 sq foot playing area and a 2400 sq foot bar area. they bought the upper floor as well but it will not be renovated/used until well down the road if business does well.

Any update on this place? We hear a lot about pool hall closings, it would be nice to hear about one opening up for a change.

Most recent thing I heard is that they're dealing with something related to the utilities. There was supposed to be an APA tourney there a couple weekends ago but no go. I just keep hearing "soon" every time I ask. They've got a sign up with their rates and it sounds like most everything is done, can't wait to get in there!

I stopped by today and talked to Carl. The only thing left to do is wait for Jeremy to put some cloth on the table's.

Great! Maybe I'll play hooky from work on Wednesday and check it out.
Please don't tell the boss!
