New Project: TAR Player Portraits

(deleted)

Sorry guys. Didn't realize my silly photoshops would bother people.
I meant no disrespect.
Sometimes I try too hard to be funny.

goddammit creedo this is why we can't have nice things

I just finished shots of Efren and Shane that I took tonight. Thinking
"Let me go put these in that thread because people seemed to dig the idea."

I'm not thinking that anymore.

Looks like you were right.

Justin,

Please don't let one jackass ruin it for everyone. Maybe put them on your website instead of here. Hope you'll reconsider.

I concur with this Justin. Don't let one twisted poster ruin the very interesting portraits you have put up. I actually said to myself; holy smoke, these people look very approachable from their pictures and someone I might have a beer with. You obviously care about your photography and putting your subjects in good light (no pun intended).

I am especially interested in the one of Efren.

Good shooting (damn, I'm punning again),
Chris

You should consider publishing a coffee table book of these! I'm serious. I'm into photography, too...I love B/W high contrast stuff, especially close up portraits. A British photographer published a book of close-up "character" shots of British soldiers in Helmand Province (Afghanistan) a couple of years ago...VERY popular, the unshaven soldiers, with dirty faces in need of a haircut looked identical to portraits of 19th Century soldiers. Very expressive, very powerful. These photos are really very well done! You can see their personalities come through; the lighting is perfect. I can imagine that Efren's portrait will be the best yet!

Guess my suggestion was not accepted in the spirit it was intended.

I for one would be interested in owning some nice portrait size prints of these photos.

They are classy and emotional. It's a great idea. I for one would like to see the new shots of Efren, Busty, Alex, and Shane.

I think most others would as well.

Creedo apologized, Justin...that's all anyone can do....
...and he is one of our better posters.

So please post some more pics....Efren has an interesting face..sometimes
he's like a child...sometimes he looks like a Latin movie star.

If you stop posting in this thread, I'm gonna send Alex after you....
...he's been working out....

Pictures

I guess someone did something ,because I dont see the photos, unless JINC did not post them yet.

I'm digging the B&W. It never gets old and it's never cliche', in my humble opinion.

Freddie <~~~ sepia

B/W has been the industry standard for portraits the last century for a reason... :)

Definitely keep the two-light setup... and if you dont have one already, look into a ring light. There are ways to replicate that look without spending the extra cash on that unit (as long as you have a decent size umbrella). :)

I can't wait until I come out there in July and you take my portrait and put it up on the wall.

Keep up the great camera work, ugotskillz.

I think the shane v/s efren. Tar advertisement would make great poster. I would buy the posters. Get them signed i would pay 50 dollars. Idk maybe they already sell then. The banners are bad a..s.

I appreciate Creedo being reasonable. Much respect to you sir.

Wow. These are REALLY cool. I missed this thread the first time around. Thanks for doing this and sharing.

I hope to get better and build up an interesting collection of portraits. Should be fun.

Great pictures, Justin, as they have a lot of character.

One thing that might improve the photos is to not crop the pictures so tightly, i.e., some of the pictures are being cropped very tightly at the top of their heads and the neck. A classic "head and shoulders" composition might be a bit better. Otherwise, the pictures are great!
