New TAR Studio in Las Vegas.

you know me!!!

It was an oversight I hope I remedied in my subsequent post. And BTW, not only would I watch, but I'd buy the PPV, donate it to someone, and attend in person. :D

BTW, I haven't forgot I owe you some green. I plan to spread a crap load around tomorrow so I can hit you again.

WOW! This place is a gem dandy. Congrats to you guys at TAR, facilities & events like this add a great deal to the Pool World. I'm sure the players, who follow TAR's events closely, will all be eager to visit this fantastic arena for playing POOL.

If there was ever a show place, that might get the newspaper & TV folks interested in covering a Pocket Billiards match, this place is IT! Folks should forget about the gambling aspect of a match & focus on the entertainment being provided by two or more contestants, in a contest where there can only be ONE winner.

Way to go .......

Awesome room!

It really is.....

That's the ticket for sure. Just have them come to you instead of hauling all the equipment back and forth, with hours and hours of set up each time.

Who's in the photo looking on (TV?) in the front office? Is that Shane watching? Just curious...

The 10ft table is going to be big hit for you, I have a feeling.

Looking forward to seeing the first production.

Congratulations!!

Thats a photo I took in 2007 a few weeks before the first Action Challenge. It was taken in the basement of Lucky's where Shane was getting ready for the match and we had all of our gear spread out trying to figure out just exactly how the hell you actually do a PPV stream. I had my camera out taking pictures of the gear and noticed Shane sitting in the corner at the service bar watching TV, when I saw what he was watching I took the photo.

He's watching the Accu-Stats tape of Efren vs Earl in Reno when Efren came with the Z shot. This is the very same tape that made me decide one day in 2006 after taking a buyout from my employer to go to Reno and see the tournament. It was at that tournament I met Shane. Through him I met Nasty, Jason and Chuck which was the birth of TAR.

For me the photo really says a lot. Its Shane before he was Shane watching his hero's, both of whom in the next couple years he would play in TAR matches and defeat. It also is kind of a touchstone for me personally about where we started. The fact that an Accu-Stats tape is central in both my story and the photograph plays a part as well. I have always felt a deep respect for what Pat has done and the unknowable amount of people who watched his product that planted the seed to go on and do something in pool.

Plus I think its just kind of a cool candid shot of a young monster watching two grown ones. :D

Great picture of my favorite player, and a great story to go along with it!

Great looking diggs. Is this in someone's home, or in a commercial building, and what is your bandwidth going to be?

The place looks great, but I wonder if being in a fixed location will inhibit booking some potential match-ups. When you were mobile, at least one player didn't have to travel if it took place in his home court, and neither had to travel if you booked a room at an existing event.

Shall we call this the VanBoening lounge?

It's a great shot....

I had a feeling that it might be Earl that Shane was watching. Your right, that photo speaks more than a thousand words.

I got to give it to you for having the courage to pursue your dream. We both know how tough it is for pool players just to survive. It's a tough, tough way to try to make a decent living at. Yet, you are doing it.

TAR has taken pool to a new level with the PPV's.

And it's awfully nice....

Thanks you for all you do.

Awesome looking studio! Love the large photographs on the walls!

Having complete control over all of the components should take live stream production of challenge matches to another even higher level.

Best wishes for everyone at TAR.

It is in a office building built in 2006. We are the first occupants in this unit. It is mainly medical and insurance offices so its a ghost town after 5PM and on the weekends. Works well for us. Commercial space in vegas is dirt cheap right now and this was a particularly good deal. The last speed test I did was 9 down 3.5 up. Plenty for a quality stream.

I'll miss travelling around but for what it costs me to go somewhere I can fly two players here. Plus everyone wants an excuse to come to Vegas. We will be making some changes. I look to do more matches with maybe lower dollar amounts and more short notice stuff.

First match is looking like Tuesday the 19th. One more thing to wrap up and I'll put it out.

I still think TAR needs it's own titles..

Belts like boxing..the only way to get a belt is to beat the man with the belt

and the man with the belt picks the game and the race

you need a minimum race and a minimum bet for each belt..

3 belts amateur, shortstop, pro

amateur titles are for league bangers like me this belt comes up during apa ,bca, vnea nationals.. or as a freebie teaser to a PPV

shortstop belt,, for guys like bartam and dippy they play big kids but they need a spot..

and a pro belt.. possibly move up to a belt per game for the big kids

I like it.. it exists outside pools power struggles and can possibly create it's own identity`

Awsome!!!...I have a new goal, I am going to make it into that room!

(My only chance is after hours... alarms???)

Seriously, can't wait for the streams to start!
