Linda,

A good con man can look you right in the eye and lie to you. That's their stock in trade.

Worse. You are a Pool Hustler dude!

I think ...

that if someone (like Rodney or Efren), or a group of players, filed a lawsuit against KT, that it would 'force' his hand into playing out much quicker than it will otherwise. And even faster if criminal charges were filed, as KT would, no doubt, have a fleeting thought that 'Bubba' might be waiting on him .... lol

no question

No question that he is a master confidence man. Remember that "con" is short for confidence. Their stock in trade is inspiring confidence in others. The first thing you do is find a target person or group. Then you look at their needs and desires and select what they are least likely to achieve in the normal course of events and/or most desperate for. Then you promise them that, gift wrapped and with a big red bow on it.

Since this is what the person(s) being scammed want to believe they are often willing to look past red flags large and small and go along with the program. Unfortunately the same things that applied to all of the other desperate people KT preyed on applied to pool players. Many of them would like to earn a decent living at the sport they love in an ethical manner. Only a handful of people can do that at present. He offered a few thousand more at least a shot at it.

When all is said and done, I do believe that the original intention was not to scam pool players but to use them as the window dressing to make money. However, when huge sponsors and TV contracts did not materialize then KT fell back on doing what comes naturally when dealing with the pool players he had persuaded to come out on a limb with him. Of course he looked very smooth and believable doing it, he was once again doing what he does best.

I just found the player's meeting from the World Open. I THOUGHT I had taped it, but never knew what I did with the teeny cassette once I got back. Well, I decided to play it this morning...looking for any signs of subterfuge or knowledge of not having funds available for payment. Any hedging, or signs of lying. Mike refused to watch it...the idea makes him sick to his stomach.

I have to admit, I felt queasy too. I popped in the tape and watched carefully. He talks about TV ratings and schedules, about the Ho deal, sponsors, about the $100K guaranteed, about what the players could do to help, about the dress code and RULES and being RESPONSIBLE, and that the payouts would be between 11 and 12 on Sunday. He said you could stay, or leave, even have someone else pick up the check for you by signing a form with one of the staff.

He did mention how long it took to get businesses off the ground and to see a return and that he could not predict the outcome of the tour and that there will always be changes.

NOWHERE did I see any sign of lying! Ok, ok, you're going to say his lips were moving, but really, I did not see the usual signs of prevarication. Either:
1. he is so good at it,
2. he truly believes in what he is saying, or
3. he fully expected the money to be there by Sunday,
but he never once stalled, shifted gears, or shifted his glance, either.

I will try to post it somewhere and let you get a look, maybe after the holidays.

Yup, that should count for something! :D :D :D

Maybe someday we can all contribute to a stamp fund so he can keep writing his letters. "From the pen of . . ." could have all new meaning.

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO BERNIE:

BLACK-WHITE

THE WORLD TO THE REST OF US:

BLACK-----------------------------GRAY-----------------------WHITE.

Bernie, in your world, there is no room for any gray area. Everything seems totally black or white.
When the IPT started and you were excepted, it was all rah-rah-rah IPT. TOTAL BRIGHT LIGHT.
As I remember after things went bad in Reno, you were on the top of the list for knocking KT. TOTAL DARKNESS
I find it amazing what your attitude is now after you were bought off with two 11% checks for payments on something that we all know should have never happened in the first place. Rah-rah-rah, "The future is bright" for KT now, is it? TOTAL BRIGHT LIGHT.
Yet, you condemn us for taking what KT says with a grain of salt due to his past history and living in the gray area perspective on this issue.

IN THE REAL WORLD, BERNIE, WALK OUTSIDE AND LOOK UP. IT'S NOT TOTALLY BRIGHT OR PITCH BLACKNESS, MOST OF THE TIME THERE'S CLOUDS OR IT'S OVERCAST. AT NIGHT, THERE ARE STARS OR MOON IN THE SKY. THE POINT IS THERE IS STILL SOME LIGHT.
THIS IS WHERE MOST OF US LIVE.

COME ON OUT INTO THE REAL WORLD, FLIP FLOP, YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!

that bible salesman is not a con. I tell if he were a con he wouldnt be in such trouble from the international pool contingent.

He is more of a soothsayer, telling everyone in pool everything they wanted to hear for decades.

"We are still working on the merger/acquisition with Ho Interactive as well as the option of taking the IPT public independently. These negotiations and details are going rather slow but still look encouraging."

They are the words of an idiot. I'm sure that Ho Interactive has more important things to deal with like the ban on online gambling in the USA, than KT's pipe dream of a merger/acquisition. What really kills me is this BS stuff about an IPO. IPO's cost millions of dollars to launch and you need an actual business to to take public. KT is are going to do an IPO with a business that owes players millions of dollars and makes promises made up of hot air?

Everyone, clue in. The train has left the building. Do not waste any more time on the drivel from this loser.

Bernie, you've been paid 22% of what is owed, more than three months after the conclusion of the World Open. I don't think KT could've just took off and bailed without paying, he was facing certain legal action up until he started making payments on what was owed.

Dated today:

Subject: IPT Updates

Dear IPT players & all qualifier participants,
(snip) In any other business, such as the airlines, this would
not happen. The business would simply file for bankruptcy and have no legal
obligation to pay back anyone. (snip)
Happy holidays to all,

If Kevin loves pool so much, has anyone caught him at a pool hall recently? If anyone sees him at a hall doing what he "loves" so much, put a quick message on AZ and let the locals deal with him.;)

He is a slippery POS, but, I don't think he is that stupid.

It would be funny though.

You're right, he was caught too many times to be slippery.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of Catholic Pope, Underwater Submarine. That sort of thing.
