Something that always intrigued me about pool ( and other sports ) is the nicknames players have...

Earl "The Pearl" Strickland
Efren "Bata" Reyes
Francisco "Django" Bustamante
Darren "Dynamite" Appleton
Shannon "The Cannon" Daulton

I'd love to hear some of the names of AZ members. I see the nicknames of the lock society guys often and never understood them. Nevertheless, they interest me. Personally, I've never been given a nickname. I see it, regardless of how ridiculous the name, as a badge of honor in a way.

So what are my fellow members' nicknames and how'd you get it?

Phade, I got it from always having a fade hair cut... Stuck with me.

All State

Was just a league nickname that my captain gave me back in my younger playing days. I asked him why and he said because if it came down to the last game "We're in good hands".

Hotrod- Yeah I would like to tell you its because of my great pool game. Unforunately that aint the case. Some old hunting buddies of mine gave me the name back in the early eighties. It has kinda stuck over the years from work, out in the public and even at the poolhall. I aint gonna tell no different, maybe they will think I was good at one time. Ha-ha

There is a guy in my pool league we all call rockin ronnie because he is ALWAYS dancing, even when he shoots. He isn't very good but he sure has fun doing it!

Jude "F***ing" Rosenstock. Sometimes they say "F***ing" Jude. Usually, it goes like this:

Person A: How'd you do in your match?
Person B: I lost to Jude "F***ing" Rosenstock

I don't know how I got it.

You know what they say, if you cant be good at something, have fun doing it!

We have the same nickname then!

Four star General Vazquez got that cause people in the army would say I look like a general trying to run stuff (table) so if I base my game to army rank I would be somewhere in the Chief of staff at the White House.

Reading my posts means you consent to my incorrect spelling and poor typing skills.

My name is Eddie so of course the "fast Eddie" is one plus I shoot fast, and one pocket Eddie because I love to play one pocket and was gambling a lot but mainly one pocket so that name stuck.

"The Kid"

Way back when I was still a little new to this game, a local road player named Chew Tobacco started calling me "The Kid" because I look an awful lot like Danny Basavich (aka Kid Delicious). Everyone else picked up on it, so it stuck.

"The Mouth"

One of the bars I played at had a full on sharking allowed policy and I always managed to say the things that made people doubt their game without being rude about it.

It is hilarious how just throwing in a little "hrmm" when they go to line up one of their shots can completely throw someone off. They will look at me and say "What?" and I will just say "Oh nothing, I'm sure you will still make it your way, go ahead."

Of course, I would only do that in this one bar where it was not only allowed, it was considered a skill. The actual nickname came from the one time my friend turned to me and said "If your mouth could shoot, you would be in Vegas right now".

Corpse, lost to a guy my stakehorse/ friend said I he was gonna call me Corpse because i couldn't play dead

Yu-Gi-Oh because of my hair. My first name is Tin so I probably rank up there in terms of various nicknames.

Tin Taemin Nguyen.
