I played a guy a few years ago, a really top notch 9 ball player who also played good one pocket. We played a race to 4 for $200 and I loss with him coming from behind 3-2. We had agreed to play only one set that day and so the next time I saw him I asked him if he was ready to play again. He winced, whined and wailed all at the same time about how he had heard that he couldn't beat me and that he needed 8-7 if we were to play again. I asked him if he was serious and he said "Yeah man, I been told you play better one pocket than me and I NEED WEIGHT". The even up game was gambling especially for me and I told him he should be careful about this answer because it could cost him lots of money in the long run. He quizzed me why and I told him that if he didn't at least give me a chance to get even at the same game and bet, I would knock his action for the rest of my life and his. I promised that every pool room and every tournament I go to I would tell the story of how big of a nit he was. He asked me if I was serious and I said, you really don't want to know. Well, he still refused to play and waited a little over two years before he had enough nerve to look me in the eye and ask to gamble again. I told him he couldn't ever gamble in life with me and if he knew what was good for him he would just fork over the two hundred I lost to him and ask me to remain silent about his skill from there on out. I see him every now and then and he has become an even better player than he was then but I continuously knock his action and always will, wherever I go.
Now he has to GIVE me the two hundred, some vigorish and an apology.
