No cues on Pawn Stars?

I'm surprised they don't show any pool cues on the show Pawn Stars. They show one in the opening of the show when it first comes on but I've never seen anyone pawning a cue.
 
The probably figure it wouldn't be interesting enough to Joe Blow. Musical instruments and guns are probably the most frequently pawned items yet you really don't see these featured on the show either - except of course in the case of antique or unusual firearms that usually somehow relate to an historical back story. But they don't show anyone coming in to pawn a Glock or a trumpet.
 
People set up appointments for them to check out all sorts of unique stuff that would make great TV. Some of the people on that show come from all over the US for their TV bit.

They like to make it look like those people are just coming off the street and the camera just happens to be there, but that ain't the case.

Unless it's a super expensive piece of pool history (is there such a thing?), I wouldn't expect anything pool-related on that show anytime soon.

BTW, I love that show.

Also, even if it was some unique historical cue, no one outside our small world would know the references to the people involved nor the significance of the event.

I don't think they have had anything high end brought in during filming. I had a friend and a customer here in lakewood, Washington who purchased a Guffy Custom Cue with a Burton Spain forearm, and a nice 1970's block letter Joss, in a nice leather case in Vegas at a Pawn shop.
He paid $550 for both cues and the case, I don't think it was at that Pawn shop but, I don't know for certain. He bought these cues and case in 2004, and he got one hell of deal, both cues were in great shape.

I suspect that it is just a matter of time, before something high end comes up on the show, allot of people lose their ass and pawn everything in Vegas, and with all the action there you just never know what may end up pawned for a Bus ticket home!!:)

BS if whom ever owns that Frank Paradise cue from Willie Mosconi for Mickey Mantle cue.........uhhhh many people somewhat know who willie is especially 40+ year olds because of the old wide world of sports.......and if you don't know who Mickey Mantle is your just unamerican......then they could explain to us a little on willie and some on herman..........

that or some of those old marquetry cues from the pre 1900's would look awesome on tv to anyone b/c the work is just fantastic

its all interesting.......people don't have to know for it to be interesting its how you present it

I do love the show but was disappointed when I went there. I was there about 7 months ago. When you walk in there is nothing but a line to walk in and everybody walks right out. It looks nothing like the show maes it out to be in person. All I saw was complete junk there. They set up the shop to look like they have everything on the planet. Is all I saw was some junk old silverware, etc. There was literally nothing on any wall but a little poster I saw from the show. Its all staged. They have a little area in the back where they just sell racks of shirts and buttons.. pretty funny.

In one episode it showed Rick sitting at his desk and a shelf of reference books behind him. One of the books was a Blue Book of Pool Cues.
 
Went there when we were in Vegas last weekend..... Lots of neat stuff, but the building and where they sit was a sh*t hole. I didn't see any cues and yes I was looking. There were 5 guys in there packing side arms.... Love the show.

Maybe someone will walk through the door with an Adams Balabushka, and swears its the real thing because of the signature, and be told its a licensed copy and Rick can only offer $150 because he needs to make a profit.

Or someone will bring in a Southwest candidate, they call in Laurie Franklin to authenticate and she identifies it as a KaoKao tribute cue, dropping the percieved value from $2.5K to $80 dollars.
