Why don't you provide full disclosure that you are in league with Str8-Shots and thus have a biased opinion of the situation? All of us "bullies" see bma9ball's comments for what they are, an assault on Marks character and credibility.
I am totally independent. I do not owe anything to anyone. I give my respect to those who I feel deserve it.
I am not in "League" as you call it, with anyone. Think very carefully if you decide to start to issue libelous statements about me. I am fiercely protective of my reputation, as some here already know.
You had better understand every single detail before you make one accusation. Trust me, I have an extremely good lawyer friend who I will not fail to call in an instant.

I am an employee of Str8 Shots and I will be helping Kimberly post in this thread. Her response is below.
Many of you keep asking why I am not posting. Mark chose to post in a place he knew I would have difficulty responding so I am left with no choice but to tell you all why it is difficult. I am legally blind. This is a handicap that I have had most of my adult life and my reader does not work so well in the forums. When I come into the forums, I cannot figure out who is saying what, which makes it impossible for me to respond to each of you.
My disability has not prevented me from being able to accomplish most things in life. However, there are limitations to what I can do because of it. I work hard to overcome those limitations and when I cannot, I ask for help.
I will have two staff members help me respond to you all today but it will take some time so please try to be patient if I do not get it done as quickly as others may. My email and phone number are posted below if you all wish to receive a quicker response to your questions. I ask that you all wait to post until I can explain the Harriman/Schmidt match and what happened. That will come in a few minutes.

Preface: I don't personally know and have never communicated with Mark or STR8 shots.
Clearly good intentions do not necessarily equate to good execution.
By allowing themselves to be drawn into a public debate over the termination of an employee they demonstrated bad judgement, bad leadership, and damaged their brand.

The public debate (thus far) was conducted by AZ members, an ex-employee and a relative of one of the principals. I can't really see how that makes str8shots guilty of bad leadership. Str8shots is yet to say a thing.

This change was brought to my attention in a pm I received and I was like, what is going on. I didn't even understand what had happened and had to guess as to which thread it could be.
Let me preface this by stating that I have no dog in this fight, if a fight it could be called. I'm am simply a third party observer who will now comment on what I have observed.
I had heard only a little bit about str8 shots before this whole Danny Harriman/John Schmidt rematch thing came about. Like most in the pool world, I had been looking forward to a rematch between the two and looking at the reasoning that was given and the tone of Kimberly (I am not jumping on Kimberlee here) it just didn't make sense as to why they weren't letting it go forward.
Actually, let me rephrase that, it did make sense. It seemed like someone new to the world of pool, making uninformed assumptions and trying to limit the possibility of bad exposure. Unfortunately for str8 shots, it completely backfired on them and gave them some really bad press.
There was one thing that mitigated that for me. It was Mark Cantrill backing them. Mark is a good guy. I don't know the particulars and can't speak to them regarding this specific incident but I will make some observations regarding what has been posted.
Mark has posted nothing derogatory about str8 shots in this thread that I have seen. He's attempted to keep everything cordial while informing us that he is no longer working for them. Str8 shots representative on the other hand has been childish and silly in his responses. I'm a big brother so I understand that response; however, I am also a business man and that is NOT something that a business should allow to happen.
It seems that at every turn Str8 shots has shot themselves in the foot with poor business decisions.
Fran is actually a good friend of mine and she is the BEST of people. So when she stands up for Str8 Shots, I have to take notice (just like I did when Mark stood behind them) but they really need to figure out that there is a time when it is better to just shut your mouth before you choke on your own foot.
As to Mark, I'm sorry that you lost your work with Str8 shots, let me know if there's anything I can do for you. I may be able to work with you on some stuff in the future.
To Fran, I'm probably gonna come down to the monday tourney at Oncue so we can talk about some stuff then if you're there (not related to this).
To Str8 Shots, I have to believe that you guys are doing good things for pool, at least you have the right intentions based on people that I trust sticking up for you, but wow... You've got to work on your PR a little bit because firing a well respected member of the billiards community that had vehemently defended you guys and your work right before Christmas and then bad mouthing him on the biggest biliards internet forum, while dismissing that same forum as not being your target is foolish at best and potentially suicidal at worst.

It really doesn't matter whether Kimberly does or doesn't. It's the public perception that matters. I would have been damn to sure to make certain that no one said anything about my livelihood without my explicit permission, especially after the PR fiasco that the original press release regarding harriman/schmidt caused even as mitigated as that was by Justin's retraction and apology.

You feel that hurts your rep so bad that you might need to call a lawyer about it?? Yet, you are the one calling others childish and immature for voicing their opinions. Looking forward to hearing from Str8. Yes, there's undoubtedly been some funky communications/decisions, emotions run high, and we're left to question things, but I believe their intent is admirable. They've done some really good things for a lot of people.
