No more NYCgrind

Yes it really is sad.

Please stop by there page to thank them for all that they and all their contributors have done to support pool/billiards.

There is a thread going on at Facebook as well where you can say something as well.

The pool world will not be the same without NYCGrind

Steve

NYC Grind have done some great things for pool. I hate to hear that the current state of pool cannot help them keep moving along. I appreciate everything they have done for the game and hope that something changes and they can bring things back and make some money.

Who knows the real reason but Jerry and Alison did a lot for the pool world throughout the years. Thank you so much NYC for the pool coverage you gave us for years. You will be saldy missed....

Sad to hear about any billiards-related business failing, but I have to admit that for the many, many times I heard its name and saw the logo (on LOTS of streamed matches)...I never knew what NYCGrind did.

It's like knowing the name and logo of Budweiser but never being told that it's a beer.

NYC Grind!!!

The support you have shown to GoPlayPool has been insurmountable.
We would like to thank you all for your hard work, dedication and passion for the sport of pool.

You have been a huge asset to the industry, and we're saddened that you're not able to continue. Alison and Jerry T., you are amazing, and we really want to thank you for everything you've done in support of GoPlayPool.

We hope that we get to see you all soon. Take care, and keep on keepin' on!

I never could figure out what they did exactly, were they a tournament production company? Film company? Collection of players?

They did have some nice video quality and logo.

Same

Same with me.

Ditto, saw the name published a lot on streams and they have/had great photos of lots of events. However, I never knew what product or service they provided.

Here is their website; www.nycgrind.com

They reported primarily on the pool scene in New York City, hence NYC as part of their name. They sponsored streams of local tournaments (Tri-State, Predator) and the last Efren vs Earl match.

Every year NYCGrind has a booth at Super Billiards Expo. Jerry Tarantola knows practically everyone in the pool industry. All the people involved are pool players.

I spoked with Allison a few times in the past. She went out of her way and sent me a post card and an NYC grind patch. That made my day! It's upsetting to see another media outlet gone, but another will pop up eventually. NYC grind did a lot for the sport in that region.

Can't imagine anyone not liking Jerry. I haven't seen him since leaving NY over ten years ago, I wish him, and his crew, the best and am sure that he'll land on his feet.

All news orgs have been in trouble in recent years, I can't imagine how difficult it would be for a pool-focused news site. We've got to get back to paid subscriptions, but we all expect it to be free now. Sorry to see them go.
