I was in a local pool room last night playing a guy one pocket for ten a game.(i wanted to play for twenty, but the nit wont bet twenty) I win first 3 games guy tells me hes done and just walks out. A few minutes later he text the guy that runs the pool room and tells him i have no nuts and he will get me next time. We have played over a dozen times and he has came away with the money only once. Am i missing something here?How do i have no nuts when i wanted to bet twenty and had to beg him to bet ten?

he thinks because he beat you once, that he can do it everytime. He has an inflated opinion of his game. He should be good for lots of dollars over the years.

Sounds like we maybe be missing part of the story. You've won 11 out of 12 times - you want to bet $20 a game, he agrees to $10 a game (knowing beforehand he's a BIG dog in that game). He needs WEIGHT, you both know it. Did he ask for any? If so, that may explain the NUTLESS crack....offer him enough to stay 70% winner instead of over 90% winner, and you just may get the $20 a game bet you want, and you'll still come out ahead...
I don't even gamble but this sounds like great advice

The OP sounds like a guy that will NEVER match up anywhere close to even. Note he has won numerous times, but only wants to give up a "little" weight.
The OP will never match up with a better One Pocket player to push his game unless he gets a big spot and is stone cold stealing.
I have found I made the biggest jumps in my game when I either:
A. Started giving up bigger spots for small money, so there was plenty of play for both sides, and it pushed me to really concentrate.
or
B. Matched up tuff but played for more money than I was generally comfortable with. ($30-$60 a game)
It seems you are looking for that $40-$60 dollar total score against helpless players. Good luck improving your game, sir.

they both sound like this guy i play at my room!! they cant nither one of them win but they dont ask for spot it makes no sense. but, you will always have a monkey for i have two you need to catch up

He said that b/c you keep robbing him probably....and made the comment b/c your willing to steal an easy game and then want to pump the bet, which is only to your benefit since he already can't win from what your saying.
Like they said you should have offered him some weight. If you'd had done that you might have even gotten your $20 game.....can't always keep taking and holding the nuts or the fish quit biting, as you now know.
Tho not many play with weight in the bar (many act like its disrespectful lol...goofey rednecks...get their pride hurt cuz they need the 7) but in the pool hall players are usually somewhat smarter than that....they wan't to gamble but want an good somewhat even game. No one likes to get robbed, so the higher the bet the more weight your liable to have to give....at the same time $$$ and weight should match. YOu don't give someone the last 4 in 9 ball race to 5 for $5, but if the money is right it equals out the reward with the effort you have to put out.

He should set his pride aside and face the fact that he cant beat me. He goes around telling people that he has the nuts playing me,but im steadily beating his brains in. FYI i have only been playing for about a year and have matched up with some of the best players in my area(and i wasnt getting the nuts btw). Why should i get up there and try to out run a spot for fifty dollars?
