Hey guys, I need some feedback on how the Tiger X pro shaft stacks up against the OB classic pro shaft.
Thank Tate, your feedback is greatly appreciated. Im very interested in both shafts, but I would I like to test them out before I actually spend 200 dollars on one of them. I dont know anyone or any dealers in my area( southern illinois/ St.louis) that has Ob classic pro shafts. I know there aren't many Tiger X pro shaft out there yet. So if you do get the test/loaner deal started I would like to be considered for one.
Thank again Tate,
Jeff
Nice idea Chris. I'm kind of wishing I had a more common joint ... The Viking quick release isn't exactly found in a lot of places other than Vikings.
tate, what do you mean when you say the tiger shafts are still in development? what exactly is being developed?
Do you have any other cues just to test it on?
This is giving me an idea to just get a sneaky with a 3/8 X 10 we can send out too - I have a bunch of old Dufferin house cues we could use.
Chris
You won't get many replies since the Tiger X pro is brand new and in some way, still in development. I've tried them both. They are both good shafts and both feel great and in my opinion are better feeling shafts than the shaft they were designed to compete against - the Predator Z2.
The Tiger X Pro is a livelier shaft then the OB Pro Classic but still plenty stiff. The appearance on the Tiger is better - it's white wood like a conventional shaft, where on the OB you can see the laminations.
These are, of course, just one player's opinion.
I like them both, but I'm partial to the Tiger X in this 11.75 mm arena. I don't play with an 11.75mm Euro taper shaft - so I don't use either one, but I will say the X Pro is one of the best hitting and playing shafts I've ever encountered. It also has an Onyx tip which is perfectly suited to this shaft. It will hold up to all extremes of english and is consistent from shot to shot.
The OB Pro Classic is also a terrific playing shaft (I use the OB Classic 12.75 mm) and both of these are better in my opinion than a Predator Z. It is a little firmer shaft with a little less "feedback". I don't think anybody would be disappointed with either shaft.
They are both similar in that they have a Euro style taper, they are solid core inside, and they both have short ferrules. The feel on both shafts is similar to conventional shafts and they are both very low squirt.
I plan on having a "test/loaner" program for AZ Billiards members next month - we'll see how that deveolps.
Chris
Chris,
Please add my name to the tester/loaner list.
I use a Bender cue. I guess I will have to look up which thread that is.
Thanks,
Joey
i haven't hit w/ the Tiger, but what I can tell you is that the OB Classic Pro is what I play with and it is BY FAR (I can't stress this enough...) BY FAR the best shaft that I've ever played with including a predator z2 and an OB-2.

Any plans for Tiger to offer a 12.75mm onyx on one of their shafts? I need a 3/8x10.
