I like the pick of Ralf because it puts his straight shootin ass against our worst player. It puts Oscar in a win/win situation where he can free wheel with no pressure. It also sits Ralf down for the remaining singles matches. Very Smart, imo.

While I didn't know that Ralf would have to sit out all of the remaining single matches I'm a believer of momentum. I just don't like giving, arguably, either of two of the best tournament players in the world a chance to change that momentum when it is so in favor of the U.S. Team.
Every single player on these two teams are great players. I wouldn't give Ralf who is looked at as the leader of the European Team the opportunity to give this BEAT DOWN EUROPEAN team a chance to reverse the momentum.
