I don't believe Mcworter about Shane chopping up Orcolla, I have watched McMinn play for years now and there is no chance that he would pull a doump in any manner of the word. The shot that Shane refused to shoot was more than likely very difficult or Shane would not have let Banks Jr. back at the table. I have watched Shane McMinn for yrs. now and he is in fact a winner, it never ceases to amaze me when someone who is not in the click of what they think is supposed to go down (ie) the dark horse wins. The person who hollars cheater is 99% of the time a poor loser who is more interested in ther pocket book than the actuall integrety of the game. I do not know Banks Jr. all that well but I can tell you first hand that Shane McMinn would not attempt a dishonest move at any time for any amount, he is there for one purpose and that is to win. Congrats to Shane for a job well done, when Dennis unscrews his cue it would not matter if Shane were to stand on his head that is irrelavent. Ohh and by the way the big names like Van Boeing and Orcolla might not win against Shane in a race to 21 on the Bar box any way.
Sincerely, Danny Harriman

Listen I don't wanna disrespect you because i truly believe you are a good guy but shane passed up a straight in one ball to help and try and put Orcullo out which he probaly should ahve done but it was morally wrong is what i am saying and it shouldnt have been allowed to happent the way it did.....ohhh you must have not had a good conversation with your stakehorse about playing corey because when we came back from dinner you had already left and probaly was in another state......next time if you don't wanna play somebody just say it don't act like you will play.........

As Banks said on the Action Report:

"this is mike banks. the shot that i didnt shoot hard enough was nothing. the game was already over. dennis had already unscrewed his cue and left. it had already been known that the finals was between me and shane. i understand how he felt about the situation but there was nothing against the rules about what shane did. there was no conspiracy to screw dennis over."

I didn't see it, so don't have an opinion about what happened. I do think the TD should have been on top of it and made a clear ruling, though.

WELL NOW IM A LITTLE HOT BECAUSE THIS KID IS CLAIMING HE WASN'T TRYING TO SCREW DENNIS...LISTEN KID STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ADMIT TO WHAT U DID AS BEING A SHADY MOVE BUT WITHIN THE RULES...I GUARANTEE ONE THING IF YOU ASK SHANE HE WILL TELL YOU IT WASN'T THE RIGHT THING TO DO BUT HE DID WHAT HE NEEDED TO DO IN ORDER TO TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF...AND I DON'T BLAME THEM BUT JR PLAYED HIS PART WHEN HE LAGGED THE 8 BALL UP LIKE THAT...HE DIDNT KNOW RIGHT THEN ORCULLO WAS OUT OF THE TOURNEY FOR UNSCREWING IT WAS A RING GAME NOT A REGULAR TOURNEY...SO JUST BECAUSE HE UNSCREWED HE WAS IMMEDIATELY OUT........DON'T THINK SO

i got an idea just for you

You should clean you ears next time...........I don't lie..........And i was extremely upset over what happened because I had a big bet out there and I did go to Dan and complain...because i couldn't believe he would really let what happened take place.....

I know the poolroom i generally hang out in....The owner is a standup guy and if this tourney when have been at his place he would have stepped up to the plate and said i dont fcking think so boys...........play honest or get the fck out and good luck getting paid..............if you dont wanna play honest

I f that kid doesn't want to admit what happened was wrong.. THEN HE WILL NEVER BECOME A GOOD PERSON.... he might become a great player but not a good person...he is the future of pool maybe..he should at least admit that what happened was wrong........but within the rules

You got it. It looked like it was questionable whether the qball would fit between the rail and the two ball to hit the one, then he had to shape on the next ball. And there's nothing wrong with using strategy. Apparently many people don't grasp the concept of how to play push-out.

And that 8 ball lay up shot? D.O. quit, the game was over before Banks bunted that 8 ball! They re-racked for the final. Jezzz, monday morning quarterbacks.[/QUO

I heard Shane himself say the 1-ball was straight in afterwards.......the one was so tough and tight that it never hit a rail going in so how tough was ittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt???????????????????????

I stated it "looked" "questionable" , meaning it didn't *appear* to be an easy shot to pocket the one. I didn't hear Shane say that, since I was watching on the cam. Maybe MB has described the shot in his post. I didn't read it. This does not speak to how difficult SM thought the out might be from there, now does it?

If SM didn't like the looks of the table, then the difficulty of just being able to pocket the one ball is irrelevant, who knows. SM had an *option*. He used his option. That's push-out rule and strategy is part of it. Maybe the rule is not perfect for ring games, but that's another issue.

Do you feel threatened?

How could a simple monkey ever threaten such an enlightened and well spoken individual such as yourself?

Just curious why you didn't call me a monkey in Olathe?

Listen dude......Do you seriously think there is nothing wrong with what happened ??

Honestly tell me the truth...............

I think the lesson of this thread is a better ring-game rules.

I hate to see someone trying to depend himself. This is also something that any promoter should consider that when a player walks out of his establishment that he/she won't be comfronted by someone who might see things in a bad light because the rule is not that good.

Im in the mortgage business...there is lots of monkies in it...

which brings me to another story did u hear about the monkey that killed the other monkey in florida...it was crazy

Well, almost everyone knows that being called a Monkey is ranked right up there with Monkey Clown and they're fightin words for sure.

I think it's very telling that someone could still try to protest that 8 ball bunt. I saw it and heard it announced beforehand that OC was out. What's so difficult to understand about that?

I think what is wrong is that you spout YOUR viewpoint as what happened and anyone who disagrees is a bad person, idiot, monkey, whatever.

I hope you realize what you have done to your reputation here.

Shane exercised a legal option to pass a tough table back to Banks in hopes of gaining a better shot later in the rack. Dennis was on life support whether it was $3000 or $300. Dennis broke down. Go ask any player on earth this question "If a player breaks down his cue, puts it in his case, and walks out of the tournament area. Is it a forfeit?" The whole " But it's a ring game" defense has no merit. Shane ran over to the TD's desk to find out what happened. After 5 min Banks shot at the 8.

The was no malice or conspiracy. The only thing I wish would have happened different was that I wish Mike would have hit that 8 ball a 100 mph instead of lagging up to it. At that point it was meaningless anyway, but to people looking for any excuse to cry "business" it gave the vultures all they needed.

I also want to say this. No man talks to me in person like you are speaking here. You take that for whatever its worth.

This is piss poor controversy started up with just a lot of hot air. Who cares? Over all it was a great event and TAR did a wonderful job for US the pool fans. Jamie shut the F up. Thats all you do is woof behind somebody with talent. You parasite who likes to agent behind talent now wants to make profit on the negative side of things. You won your bet. The tournament was great and you should just shut up and thank the guys from Olathe and TAR for making someone like you a participant.

Hey Justin, Tanner et al no words can express my thanks in taking off from AZ and Billiard Network in to a new strata of pool journalism and reporting
