old guys wearing hustlin usa gear?

Ghost you make a good point.

But...the guys who originated the gangsta style, rap music and that part of the black culture and manner of speaking (dropping the 'g' etc..) are in their 60's (or older) now.

A guy I know who's a thug and stands on the corner every day with his huge afro, chains and bling...is 69 years old.

To look at him you'd think he was MAYBE 40.

You was real chill wit dat ansa......:D

Well, being 45 I don't qualify as old, but I will say that I do not hustle anywhere. I'm just not in that much of a hurry anymore. It can wait and so can you.

Maybe we need "Amblin USA" clothes for guys like me who don't feel the need to move fast for anybody.

Or am I using the wrong definition of Hustle?

Sorry for bringing this thread back, but I had one more thought about it, giving a different slant....

It could be more about vernacular than anything else. The word Hustlin', with the dropped g, is rap/hip hop/adopted ghetto slang, which is young guys music and way of talking (for the most part) and could be a big reason (maybe even subconsciously) for the op's initial opinion/reaction of it being 'weird' associating that word with an 'old guy'....

If instead, the op had seen an older guy wearing a t-shirt that said....Pool Hustler....he would have very likely NOT have thought it was 'weird', the way he did when seeing the Hustlin' USA SHIRT.....The hypothetical 'Pool Hustler' printed shirt probably would have seemed to him, a natural match for a seasoned looking 55 yr. old pool player to be sporting.

I disagree with that to a point. The young may think that it is their word and I understand why, but the term has been used to mean a con (not just hustling pool) for a lot longer than my life and I'm 63.
He probably thought it was weird because old guys usually see trendy stuff like that for the silliness it is.

i don't own any hustlin' gear and at 38 i don't know i qualify as old but i do own a "hustler" t shirt. now i am by no means good enough at pool to be a hustler, but i am however a supporter of fine pornography and will gladly wear that shirt:thumbup:

My dad told me something when I was growing up.....

you may not get all but hurt but you do look a little retarded. pull that s*it up. no one needs to see your boxers or worse see a 19yo pale ass - unless you can all get your girls to wear thier pants that way....then it's all good:thumbup:

I saw my FIRST girl with her pants hanging off her butt at Buffalo Billiards about a week ago. She was in her early 20's and she had these dark colored boxers on that were pulled up to her navel but the pants were pulled half way down her butt.

It was quite a sight. The boy she was playing pool with, had similar styling. I had to give the girl thumbs up for originality. :D
