Old TV Shows with Pool

There was an episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air where Will gets in debt playing pool and his uncle has to bail him out. It is called 'Bank Shots' and it was episode 22 of season 1 but hulu doesn't have it. I havn't seen it since for ages but I remembered it as being pretty cool.

That's the one where Will is working the room and ends up getting stuck. Uncle Phil comes in and hustles the hustler. I loved his ackward upsidedown bridge in the first rack. Then once the hook is set he was all "Geoffrey go get me Lucille"

I just wish he hadn't named his pool cue after B. B. King's guitar.

They play pool for money in the back room of the Bing in a couple episodes of the Soprano's, and fat Jimmy gets flipped after the feds find a cache of machine guns inside the pool table in Jimmies bar.

2 observations...

I never saw this Twilight Zone episode until maybe 6 months ago. What a great episode!

Observation 1: Near the beginning when Rod Serling is on setting up the show for us viewers, did anyone get a look at the cue he was holding? It looked like a 22 mm tip on a mop handle. I wonder if this was purposely inserted for fun.

Observation 2: Near the very end when "Fats" lets Jesse off the hook by purposely leaving him a short hanger for the win, by the time Jesse shoots that shot (the camera has been panned away from the table for a while) the cue ball is in a totally different spot. It somehow became a half table hanger.

I think I may have too much time on my hands.

Best,

P.S. Feel free to ask me about the editing errors in Forrest Gump and Twister. :D

a wee bit different than The Color of Money

Thanks, Steve. Great job.
Speaking of Jack Albertson, he was in an hour long episode of Gunsmoke where he played an aging pool hustler hanging out with a younger hustler and his girlfriend. Kind of an old west Color of Money. They played on a table in Miss Kitty's saloon.

Jack let the youngster have the money on purpose but Jack took the young blonde to San Francisco with him at the end of the show. Nobody could doubt who the real winner was. Old and cunning wins every time.

My father once told me about a tv show from the 60's starring Peter Falk and there were often scenes with Falks character playing pool, I can't remember the name of the show though. I've heard that Falk was a decent player.

Fresh Prince of Bel air plays pool

Part one

Part two

Here's one for you...(Hope it hasn't been mentioned.....I thought I read through all the thread)

Remember the Show....."Tool Time"...with "Tim the Toolman Taylor" and his sidekick Al. Also starred Pamela Anderson in the early days.

One episode, they build the "Ultimate Mans Bedroom".

From memory, the bed folds up, and a pool table slides out of the wall.

No pool being played, But cool none the less. At the time, I think we were living in a little apartment, and having a pool table of any kind seemed like a good idea, so it stuck in my mind.

Cheers - Dave.

Not sure what episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies" it was but Jed tortured a Hustler in the fancy Billiard room.....with the "Billiards" (mounts) hanging on the walls....Jed refered to the cues as "Pot Passers"...and the pool table as a "Fancy eatin' table"...Jed said that playing pool reminded him of ricochet shootin' with his rifle!...LOL!

Reviving a typical SDE thread

SDE started so many threads of which this is just one of many. A very giving person who helped many of us here in the forum. His contributions to the forum will never be forgotten. :frown:

Umm, I watched Super Nanny last night and one of the little monsters was walking all over their pool table with red cloth. Does that count?

And Roseanne always had people playing in the background at the local watering hole.

I also like to watch MTV Cribs because they have the most fantastic game rooms.

I know, I know, I watch trash!

A big Sanford & Son fan here. In fact, do you know your "walking cane" cue is on eBay now, in what appears to be the Sanford & Son backyard?
