OMGWTF gets stiffed in money game...

Hard pool lesson. Melinda probably won't play a serious match again without insisting on posting. How depressing for her.

She's one of the most entertaining writers in pool.

I get that you might not be into good writing -- no need to let everyone in on that ;-)

Lou Figueroa

Lou, if you find her brand of narcissistic navel gazing to be worth your time, go for it. I'll stick to Tevis, McCumber, Byrne and our own Jay Helfert.

I don't seek her out. The only reason I come across her twaddle is when I pick up Cue Times, a Colorado pool newspaper that carries her column. I don't seek it out and no longer waste my time reading it. For those of you who think this chick can write, have it your own way. You like what you like; there's no explaining taste.

But if she tried to pass off those essays of hers in any high-school composition class, she would fail miserably. That's assuming her teachers aren't graduates of AZ Academy and are able to recognize her infantile screeds for what they are.

As for her pool playing ability, I'm not really interested until she matches up with the top players. Then I'll pay attention. Even if she could take down Jasmine, I would bet money that Jasmine could write a better pool column. And English isn't even her native language.

Aren't you that idiot in NPR who wanted to bet $10k that no one could withstand 10 seconds of being waterboarded and when "THE WORLD" called you out on it you out of nowhere "no speaka no ingles?"

Not only would everyone bust you at that retard bet, OMG would likely bust your ass playing pool --- AND is a better writer than you. So, it might make sense to not let your alligator mouth get your lizard ass in a spot that doesn't have a bathroom escape route.

My waterboarding equipment is available for all who wish to sample it. When should I expect you?

Why quit so early?

I mean if you are going to bail why when it's 13-6 going to 21? Let her get to 18 or so before pulling the "gotta take a bathroom break " move.

That's cold, I would hunt her down and take it out of her A$$. That's just me though.

no post no play....!

Sorry to learn of this.....I can't understand what she hopes to accomplish by skipping out in this manner; I mean, is she gonna disappear from the pool scene permanently? I guess that's her only option.....surely she doesn't think something like this will just "blow over".........my guess it that she won't show her face around pool halls for a long long time........unless she comes back and pays OMG the money...but how likely is that?

Poor 9BallPaul.... getting ridiculed for posting his opinion. Sounds like NPR, doesn't it, 9BallP? ;)

I, for one, applaud you for speaking up. Not everyone likes her blog, but as you can tell, almost everyone on AZB does and will defend her. That's cool and all, but this is a FORUM and everyone is entitled to their opinion on it.

I'm with Trigger. He is intitled to his opinion. So what, he don't like her blog. I dont care for her blog either but thats me. I know lots of people that do and that is fine with me. Thats what is great about blogs, pick the ones you like and ignore the ones you don't. Pretty simple really.

HAHAHAHHA Nothing like beating someone so bad they're squeezing their ass through the tiny bathroom window, dropping down on top of the dumpster and high-tailing it down the alley!

Yes, you are exactly correct.

Ignore the ones you don't like. Don't make a point of ridiculing another person's blog.

Blogs are a person's personal experession and it just isn't right to ridicule them for their writing style or your lack of appreciation for their writing style, especially here on AZB Main Forum where we all share the love of pool.

Melinda brings a lot of interest to the Main Forum with her Greyhound bus rides, gambling adventures and other adventures.

Some part of me wonders if there is not more to the story than I currently know.

I'm sure we'll all be treated to a 3,000-word account of this episode the next time OMGWTF publishes one of here miserable columns. Just hoping she can play pool better than she can write.

Dont you have $10,000.00 bet you have yet to pay off?

People that live in glass houses and such dont you now.

What did Tony take from a tournament? $25k and he didn't even pick up a cue!

Not trying to derail the thread -- when / where / what was this reference all about? I missed it.

Back on topic -- A great story, feed for the blog, the game might have been worth $2K in just good rep.

Karma will even up the score someplace down the road.

It's a free forum JoeyA. Don't try and tell people what YOUR rules are. You are not the rule maker. Did you know that?

I think Melinda is one of the most talented non-professional writers I've ever read. She should consider taking it up as a profession. However, I don't like her message or the pride she takes in being belligerant. That's my opinion and i get to say it no matter what Joey A says or thinks.

Artista

I love Melinda's blog, in fact I love Melinda! Her blog is just what it is supposed to be, a work of art.
