On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Regardless of who (supposedly) will play Chris for what, Geno has been there and done that.
And then he tells us what happened and what it's like.

This thread you're in right now, is in the top 12 threads of all time on AZbilliards by view count.
Even the haters are coming back here over and over. If you want to cry that he's selling something
or that he makes too many excuses, at least he's interesting while he's doing it.

Why not give the nonstop ballbusting a rest and just enjoy the posts?
Or go elsewhere if you think they're nothing special?

I'd take another Geno in a heartbeat, someone who make threads that thousands of people want to read.
Guys like that are rare. The guys who chime in with 1 or 2 sentences, making pissy little sarcastic potshots?
Those guys are a dime a dozen on the internet.

I want to see this list of many players on this forum who will play Chris Bartram for $250. Name them. Chris needs to get in stroke as he hardly ever plays.

Name this list of forum players, PLEASE?!

Thanks,
JoeyA

I'll play him for $250. And I'll play on a table with 4 inch pockets. $250 is nothing and that's the point. That and I don't keep posting that I can win the match. And you can stream it, winner gets all the PPV money.

I'll be glad to donate $250 to Chris and the streamer as long as it's in central FL. I'm not paying for travel or motel to donate. I would do this just to prove a point. Johnnyt

I've already donated $300 or so to Chris here in Fl. when $300 was more like $500 today...Oh, and it was my own money and no stream to recoup some of the losses. Johnnyt

Well ScottK has bellied-up to the table.

Again, the question of who is going to pay for the streamer?

Maybe, we should just see who is willing to play Chris Bartram a/some $250 sets of 9 ball or 10 ball without streaming.............

I still want to see a list of those "many" forum members who will play Chris for $250.

While $250 isn't a lot of money, I don't see "many" forum players willing to play Chris some even up anything for $250.

Maybe if he gets enough offers he can make a road trip. $250 here and $250 there, well it's not get-rich money but it is gas money.

Maybe as Chris makes his way to the U.S. OPen 9 ball championship, he can stop and play these MANY FORUM PLAYERS that you mentioned. (I'm still waiting for the list).

I'm not sure if Chris is willing to make a detour down south to pick up your investment while on the way to the US OPEN 9Ball Championship.

Regardless, I still want to see this list of many players that are willing to play Chris for $250 (or more).
So far we've got ScottK and you.

I am surprised that there aren't more players willing to do this. Maybe it's the streaming them that slow down their typing fingers. Also, the Open as an example seems to not pan out either. I believe that is because they have the draw to get lucky in and probably they won't get streamed.

In any case if Chris comes down to central FL I'll be glad to play him a race to 10 9 ball on a BB for $250 with stream or W/O. If he comes down to FL within a short driving distance from Tampa I will play him. If I don't I will post on here what a liar and nit I am and take whatever the forum posts about me. Johnnyt

No one. Because nobody is interested in watching Chris BBQ me on any table, 4 inch pockets, bar box or otherwise. They might be if I'd been talking shit, but I haven't. Hell, I think Gene has even let it rest as far as Chris goes.

I don't remember exactly how this got started again. I know Creedo gave Gene props again for stepping up to play for chump change and Johnny said plenty of guys would play him for what amounts to a free roll.

I like Gene. I think his Perfect Aim information, while not the end all be all, is useful. I'm glad I took a lesson from him. I like what he is doing and I appreciate the fact he's helping players around the country. But let's stop painting him as some kind of martyr because he stepped up and played Bartram.

That's the issue. It wasn't $250 (or more) it was a effing free roll to settle years of woofing. Pretty sad really.

Finally got some sleep.....

.................................................................................

Finally got some sleep......

After 2 days of torture at the Motel 6 in Greensboro we were off to Raliegh.

We played until about 10:30 at Gateway. Rhea had some action and picked up 120.

We got ot the poolhall and went in, paid the entry and there was a young man there all by himself.

I wanted to play a couple of sets to get the feel of the table and knew my A game was long gone.

I played bad my first set as i figured I would but settled down the second one and could have won but didn't get out on the hill game.

His lucky day. i lost $200. If i play this young man this weekend or after the tourny i will get that money back. he plays good but my A game will get the cash here.

We checked into a room here at about 5:00AM. Got to sleep about 6:00AM and woke up at 9:00AM to all kinds of traffic noise. I usually check for this but I was tired. The highway/busy street is right out front and there is a stop light right out in front of the motel. Every car that is loud or motorcycle os anything sounds like it is right in the room.

I called the front desk at about 2:30PM after trying to sleep and insisted we move to the other side of the motel.

It's like heaven.

The good news is I got about 2 hours of good solid sleep.

Not the best to play in a tourny but hopefully I will only have to play one match tonight and it won't be Johnny Archer if he's here.

There is though some real stiff competition though.

Rhea was all excited, waking me up at 5:30 to get there by 7:00. The players meeting is at 7:00 and the calcutta after that. I'm sure this thing won't get started much before 8:00 for sure.

Am I ready to play in this tourny. No. Am I playing Yes.

It will get the competitive juices flowing for sure. get me in the real mood to play some serious pool.

Whatever happens in this tourny, i know how to build on it to get ready for the US Open.

Hopefully I can be ready for that. Got the room for about a week here and with some lessons and some serious practice we'll see what we can do.

I sent Rhea down to the poolroom to experience all the goings on. She should have a good time.

Myself, I'm just getting ready.

One man a van and the road. and of course there's Rhea

it finally happened........

I played my first match tonight in the tourny and i never had such a helpless feeling.

My shoulder would usually get real tired and weak. But now my arm all the way down to my hand won't work right. I can move my hand open and closed real slow.

I could hardly sign my name earlier.

My US open chances of playing are pretty much toast I think.

This has been happening to a certain extent for awhile now. Even before the Bartram match but then it would get better.

It doesn't feel like it will get better this time. there is really something bad wrong and it's not carpultunel.

I hope it's not something to do with my neck and the car accident.

If it's like this tomorrow I will have to drop out of the tourny.

I won my match tonight but i don't know how exept that the player I played , played way under his level.

One man a van and the road.

I might become a non playing teacher for awhile.;)

I do think Gene’s On The Road thread is pretty cool even though it is an ad for selling perfect Aim, aiming systems belong in aiming system forum, it is a blog on the main forum, and the truth is being stretched a bit from time to time.

A lot of young players read this forum and have dreamed about going on the road and Gene makes it look easy for a non-pro. What I want to hear from him is that he could never make it for 2 months W/O selling his $200 a pop perfect aim and having a stake horse when he plays for anything remotely large.

The truth is money cannot be made on the road anymore. Everything is priced many times what it was 25 tears ago. Gas, food, motels, table time, and maintaining your transportation will make it impossible to survive out there. Johnnyt

Gene's ENTIRE point is that being on the road is tough action and that without something like lessons it would be impossible.

Gene makes it REAL as to the costs, the issues with motels and so on.

At the very least he provides a sobering viewpoint as to how it is out there.

FYI though there are several trick shot artists and instructors who spend most of the year on the road and they made it work. I am sure there are a few grinders out there who are making it as road players but with the insta-knock it's triple tough to come in unknown anymore and snap off the weak players first.

I think for a player of Gene's speed he is kind of in just the right spot. Not a high enough to gear to scare off the B players but high enough to hold his own against shortstops (my opinion). And he isn't sneaking around and hustling he is practicing a soft version of the hoo-rah in the form of announcing he is an instructor and implicitly daring people to try him and find out if the aiming guy can actually aim.

Do you have a point here?

Justice has been done.

That's the issue. It wasn't $250 (or more) it was a effing free roll to settle years of woofing. Pretty sad really.

I understand the issue from Chris's viewpoint and I think that he has extracted a fair amount of satisfaction with the posts and the sound win against Geno.

I'm just trying to get that list of "many players" that are willing to get in the box with Chris for $250.

As far as the rest of the posters are concerned, I suppose it is their right to demand another pound of flesh as satisfaction for Geno's "foul deeds". :D

In the meantime, Chris will be working his way across the country to go to the OPEN and he will be happy to stop along the way and give anyone in his path a shot at that $250 (and it doesn't have to be more).

I doubt that there are "many players" on this forum who will jump at the chance to play Bartram.

Maybe we need to get a list of players that will play Geno for $250 instead of a list of "many players" that will play Chris.

It isn't just Chris' viewpoint, it's that of many people here.

I'm just trying to get that list of "many players" that are willing to get in the box with Chris for $250.

I don't think there are a hundred people who'd do it, probably not even "many" who would. I think Johnny was exaggerating to make the point that Gene played Chris for, at most, $250 which is nothing. Hell, if you teach a monkey to pocket balls I'd back him against Chris for $250 just for the entertainment value in watching a monkey play pool. Some people seem to think it was some tremendous act of courage that Gene stepped up and played Chris. It wasn't.

As far as the rest of the posters are concerned, I suppose it is their right to demand another pound of flesh as satisfaction for Geno's "foul deeds". :D

To be clear, I don't think Gene has committed any "foul deeds" and I'm not sure anyone is demanding a pound of flesh. In fact, the only "demand" I've heard is he stop claiming he can beat Chris. He can't. And you know what? It's OK that he can't, Chris is a great player. It doesn't reflect poorly on Gene in the least to not play at Chris' speed.

In the meantime, Chris will be working his way across the country to go to the OPEN and he will be happy to stop along the way and give anyone in his path a shot at that $250 (and it doesn't have to be more).

I'm fairly certain you don't speak for Chris, but I've already said it... he's got action here on a Gold Crown with 4" pockets if he wants to play for $250. That's a small price for me to pay to become the next hero of the AZ Billiards forums. Because, you see, it won't matter how bad I lose, because around here, I'm a hero for trying. I guess you guys have bought into the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality.

I offered to play Gene too.

He was on his way back to Peoria after Memorial Day weekend. He'd have had to make a 30 minute detour at most, probably more like 15 minutes. I told him I'd like a Perfect Aim tune up to make sure I had it straight in my head. I also told him I'd play him some cheap sets to make it worth his time, and I had a buddy who was interested in a Perfect Aim lesson. He declined to make the stop. He wanted to get back to Peoria on his wild goose chase for the brown Jeep Wrangler that hit him the week before. Maybe Gene just doesn't like money.

I'll offer to play Gene for $250 too, on two conditions:
1) I get that Perfect Aim tune up.
2) You all worship and praise me for ponying up chump change to play a guy I probably can't beat.

all right.... i will jump on the bandwagon to play chris, if he is ever in my neck of the woods.

just one condition though.

after he kicks my ass he gives me a 1 hour lesson on his no aiming method.
